Quarterfinals
King 28, Bartram 12
  QB Dwayne Cuff scored twice, turning one of his three carries into a
62-yard TD. Mike Whitters returned a punt 68 yards for a score. For
Bartram, Barry Green passed 12-for-27 for 166 yards and an 84-yard
score to Abraham Holman (6-154).
Washington 49, Dobbins 0
  Porfirio Barrera scored on a pass and an interception return. Apollo
Wright ran for one TD and passed for two more. Desmon Heath returned
a punt 39 yards for the first TD and Sulaiman Rahman made two interceptions.
Mastbaum 28, Bok 0
  Lamont Waters (20-105) and Jerald Lyons (17-85) ran for one score
apiece. Waters added eight tackles.
Roxborough 20, Northeast 14
  On fourth-and-goal at the 1 with time running out, Van Rawls tackled
receiver Antoine Brockington (4-55) to preserve the win. Rawls also ran
for a score. Ephraim Ramsey ran for one TD and caught a pass for another.
For Northeast, Jeff Ricci passed 9-for-15 for 120 yards.

Washington 39, King 0
  Sulaiman Rahman made two interceptions and scored the last TD as the
backup QB. William Potter (9-95) had the best stats of the other four Eagles
who ran for TDs.
Mastbaum 18, Roxborough 6
  Lamont Waters ran for two TDs. Roxborough's TD came when backup
QB Bradford Jenkins took a pitchout from Sean Gray and tossed an 86-yard
pass (longest in city postseason history) to Roger Hillanbrand.
Final
At Northeast
Washington 20, Mastbaum 0
    Sophomore Desmon Heath made a team-high seven tackles and rushed
45 yards for the game's final score as Washington captured its third
title in four years and became the first team in 24 years of scheduled
title games to win by back-to-back shutouts. Ronald "Butch" Crawley
(8-56) and Ryan Barksdale (10-44) also ran for TDs. Sulaiman Rahman
ended Mastbaum's best scoring chance with an interception on the 2.

    Holder Joe Shenko, the QB, fired a clinching TD pass to Steve
"Whitey" Kurczewski off a fake field goal with 1:37 left. Jason
Berghaier (eight tackles) and Jason Logue (two interceptions) led the
defense.
Ryan 14, Dougherty 7
    Six plays after Dave McDonald made an interception, Jaime Brown
(28-138) ran 3 yards for his second TD with 0:21 left. To thwart
Dougherty's high-powered air attack, Ryan often used a 3-3-5 defensive
alignment.
Roman 14, O'Hara 7
    Greg Alexander made 13 tackles (four sacks, two more for losses)
and Dave Melaragni threw two TD passes.
Bonner 14, St. James 10
    Greg Kirwan rushed 28 times for 207 yards and a TD while Mike
Hemmert made 14 tackles, including two sacks. St. James had first-and-10
at Bonner's 17 with 1:48 left, but was stopped.
Semifinals
At Northeast
Ryan 14, Judge 7
    With 1:21 left, Dave McDonald made his 11th interception of the
season to preserve the win. Ray McFall ran for two short TDs.
Roman 23, Bonner 19
    QB Dave Melaragni ran for three TDs, including an 85-yarder that
provided a 23-13 lead. Bonner's Mike Mitros passed 12-for-19 for 274
yards and two TDs to Pete Capuzzi.
Final
At La Salle University
Ryan 25, Roman 8
    Gene McAleer (six tackles) and Dave McDonald (three
interceptions) led a defense that limited Roman to 60 yards total
offense and gave Ryan its first unbeaten season (12-0-1) in 25 years of
CL competition. McDonald returned one of his pilfers for a 34-yard TD.
Jaime Brown carried 24 times for 72 yards and a score. Eugene Small ran
for Roman's TD.

Season's Recap
Penn Charter (4-0-0)
  With Bill Gallagher on sabbatical, Brian McCloskey filled in
and produced a titlist. In the finale, the visiting Quakers topped
GA, 28-21, as Courtney Batts returned the opening kickoff 78
yards for a score and Brandon Shepherdson added three rushing
TDs and 139 yards on 19 carries. Episcopal placed second at 3-1-0.
