CLASS AAA
First Round
At Germantown
Phoenixville 83, Bok 71: The Wildcats were
outrebounded, 42-27, and played poor interior defense as Phoenixville raced to a 45-26
halftime lead and eventually rolled to a 28-point pad. Playing on a severely sprained
ankle, Marquise Salley had to settle for 18 points. His 17-foot, left-wing jumper with
6:22 left in the first quarter were the first points ever scored by a Pub player in a
boys' state playoff. Fifty-two seconds into the game, reaching for a rebound, Bok's David
Lorn had inadvertantly deflected the ball into Phoenixville's basket. Lorn scored no
points of his own (0-for-4 floor; no free-throw attempts), but did grab seven rebounds.
