QUARTERFINALS
Overbrook 33, Central 22: This one featured perhaps the
strangest circumstance in city grid history. Central, the last-place team in
AAAA Red, entered the playoffs with an 0-4 record (and 0-6 overall). Overbrook's
David McCants turned a right-side jet sweep into a 73-yard TD on the game's

Anhalt rushed 22 times for 134 yards while Devonne Boler passed

kneeldowns were expected.
Northeast 26, Bartram 20: James "Big Country" Rosseau rushed 22
times for 161 yards and two TDs. With Northeast down, 14-7, Tim Freiling

his big brother, Tennessee commit Je'Ron. For Bartram, Laquan Williams threw
4-for-9 for 110 yards and two scores to Yusuf Bangura.

incompletion. Robert Fitzhugh scored for G-town on an 86-yard kickoff return. He
also had an interception.

Washington 41, Northeast 34 (3 OTs): In a classic and then
some, Washington gave coach Ron Cohen his 10th PL title (tying Al Angelo's
record) by picking off a pass late in regulation (frosh Nate Smith did the
honors) and then getting TDs on all three of its OT possessions. James Fowler
posted TD catches on the Eagles' first two thrusts; the second came on fourth
down in the front left corner of the end zone. QB Aaron Wilmer (9-for-16, three
TDs) then succeeded on a 1-yard sneak in the third extra session and Lorenzo
Adams intercepted a pass from Malik Stokes (22-for-42, 243, three TDs) to his
Tennessee-bound brother, Je'Ron (9-86). The Vikings' Steve Pinckney added eight
catches for 65 yards and a score while Tim Freiling boomed field goals of 45 and
44 yards. Smith's hit caused a fumble that Washington's Waverly Harris returned
