April 9
Malvern 2, Chestnut Hill 1 (10 inn.): Steve Burns fanned
11 in the first nine innings. He also scored
the tying run in the home ninth and drove in the game-winner in the 10th. CH's Spencer
Smith went
9.1 innings.
April 16
Penn Charter 5, Malvern 4: Gerry Sasse went the distance
and Aaron Greenfield went 2-for-4 with
two RBI.
April 18
Malvern 7, Episcopal 1: Steve Burns (two doubles, two
RBI) and Matt Skellan (two RBI) and helped
make Paul Keldsen a winner.
April 23
Malvern 3, Haver. School 0: Steve Burns fanned four in
five innings and had an RBI in a three-run
home fifth. D.J. Reagoso had an RBI double.
April 26
Malvern 1, Gtn. Acad. 0 (8 inn.): Paul Keldsen pitched a
three-hitter with eight strikeouts. The run
scored on an error. GA's Sean Grieve fanned 10.
April 30
Malvern 10, Chestnut Hill 0: Steve Burns allowed three
hits in the five-inning game and went 2-for-4
with two RBI. Brad Kolmer (two RBI) and Mike Treston (two runs) had two hits apiece.
May 3
Malvern 8, Penn Charter 0: Paul Keldsen pitched a
two-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Matt Skellan
(two-run homer), Ryan Burton (3-for-3, three RBI) and Joe Milani (two doubles, RBI) paced
the offense.
May 7
Malvern 6, Episcopal 3: Homers by Joe Illgas (two-run)
and D.J. Reagoso (solo) provided a 5-1 lead
in the visiting fifth. Paul Keldsen retired 11 of the 12 batters he faced. Episcopal's
Adam Murray doubled
and hit a solo homer.
May 14
Malvern 9, Haver. School 2: Paul Keldsen allowed three
hits and fanned 10 in 6.1 innings while Joe
Milani went 3-for-5 with a homer and five RBI. Chris Kolmer also homered. The Friars
clinched the title
at 8-1 (one game left).
May 16
Malvern 5, Gtn. Academy 0: Will Romanowicz pitched a
two-hitter with six strikeouts as the champion
Friars finished 9-1. Dan Plunkett homered.
