JUNE 3
CATHOLIC LEAGUE FINAL
O'Hara 5, La Salle 4: As they'd done in the semis, scoring four to
edge Conwell-Egan, 10-9, the Lions won it in the bottom of the seventh. They only needed
two runs this time. Mike Antonini's squeeze bunt brought in the tying run and pinch-hitter
Paul Titchenell, with two away and a 1-2 count, slammed a single to right for the win. The
hit scored Joe DiMenna, who was dashing down the line in an attempt to steal home. Brian
Placido went 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBI and Mike Greeley smacked a solo homer. Josh
Rickards (5.1 innings) and Brian Campbell did the pitching. After spinning a no-hitter in
the semis, a 9-1 win over Carroll, La Salle's Dan Waters went five innings on two days of
rest. He allowed six hits. O'Hara was coached by John Fleming, Antonini's stepfather, as
Frank Allison continued to nurse injuries suffered in an off-season fall.
MAY 31
CATHOLIC LEAGUE SEMIFINALS
La Salle 9, Carroll 1: Senior lefty Dan Waters pitched a no-hitter
with 10 strikeouts and faced just 22 batters, one over the minimum, as the Explorers
rolled. Leading off the second inning, Matt Smith reached second for Carroll when Waters
bobbled his comebacker and then, with no play, threw the ball past first for a double
error. He later scored on Chris Cashman's sacrifice fly. Kevin McLoughlin and Andrew
Carnevale had two-run singles and Carnevale, the shortstop, made a spectacular play on a
groundball up the middle (he was two steps beyond the bag) to end the fifth and preserve
the no-hitter.
O'Hara 10, Conwell-Egan 9: Dan Thiel, the fourth player to occupy
the second spot in the order, lofted an RBI single to right to cap a four-run home seventh
and end the game. Paul Titchenell (walk) and Mike Antonini (two-run single) also had RBI
in the uprising. Steve Cook went 4-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and an intentional
walk. Brian Campbell won in relief and went 2-for-4 with two RBI. For C-E, Matt Brazil and
Mike Kane (four RBI) had three-run doubles.

CATHOLIC LEAGUE
SECOND-ROUND PLAYOFFS
Conwell-Egan 5, Judge 4 (10 inn.): Todd Puzycki's groundball single
down the leftfield line scored an unearned run with two out in the home 10th to make a
winner of reliever Mike Kane (three perfect innings). Nick Natriello (double) and Tim
Carroll (sacrifice fly) drove in runs in the seventh to erase a 4-2 deficit. Judge catcher
Dale Curry had an RBI triple among two hits and threw out two baserunners.
Carroll 3, Roman 1: Frank Gailey fanned 11 in a three-hitter while
Matt Smith and Colin McHale had RBI doubles in a three-run third. Roman's Chris Corkery
homered.
PUBLIC LEAGUE SEMIFINALS
Frankford 6, Central 2: Joe Farina allowed four hits while fanning
nine and had an RBI single. Frosh DH Ramon Reyes had a two-run double. Erick Navas got
Central on the board with a two-run single with two out in the seventh.
Northeast 11, Washington 5: Andrew Lihotz went 2-for-3 with a
double, triple, sacrifice fly and three RBI and pitched 3.1 innings in relief for the win.
Jeff Barow went 3-for-5 with a double and one RBI. The games were played simultaneously,
with this one at Piccoli Playground. For Washington, Dennis Massott and Adam Eisman had
two hits, one RBI.
MAY 27
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
FIRST-ROUND PLAYOFFS
Roman 4, Bonner 1: Matt Daley fired a three-hitter and received all
the support he needed in a four-run first. Mike McFarlane led off with a homer and Chris
Corkery added a two-run shot. After the early barrage, Bonner's Jay Kluka retired 17 of 19
batters.
Judge 7, North Catholic 1: Kevin McDevitt, son of North
assistant Brian McDevitt, stroked a two-run single to break a 1-1 tie in the fifth. Joe
Cione pitched a four-hitter and Dale Curry smacked a two-run homer. Five North starters
were held out at the beginning for violating a team rule; they eventually played.
PUBLIC LEAGUE QUARTERFINALS
Frankford 9, Edison 4: Carlos Rivera (eight, five
innings) and Joe Farina combined to strike out 13 and Farina went 3-for-4 with a double
and three RBI. Matt Colon added two hits and an RBI. Edisons Braulio Marquez went
2-for-3 with an RBI.
Northeast 9, GAMP 3: Bryan Adamson went 3-for-3 with a
double, homer and two RBI to support Craig Solomon (four innings). Andrew Lihotz pitched
three hitless innings, extending his playoff streak to eight. Dennis Heebner and Jay Banks
added two RBI apiece.
Central 7, Lincoln 3: Brandon Watson went 3-for-4 with a double
and two RBI and pitched one-hit ball over the final 2.2 innings to save Craig
Baumbachs win. Ryan Abrams also had two RBI.
Washington 7, Olney 2: Harry Parfitt's two-RBI effort included a
two-run homer and he pitched one-hit ball over the final two innings in relief of winner
Dennis Massott. Adam Eisman had a two-run single in a five-run first.
MAY 22
PUBLIC LEAGUE ROUND-OF-16 PLAYOFFS
Northeast 10, Kensington 0: Andrew Lihotz pitched a
five-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts. Bryan Adamson had a solo homer and two-run
single. Jeff Barow had two RBI singles and Jay Banks added two doubles for one RBI.
GAMP 5, Mastbaum 1: Mario Malatino fanned 12 and walked three in a
no-hitter and homered in the first inning. Dave Scirrotto (3-for-3) and Gabe Natale
(2-for-3) added one RBI apiece.
Olney 6, Bartram 1: Edwin DeLeon pitched a two-hitter with nine
strikeouts while adding two hits, two RBI. Kelington Tejada went 3-for-4.
Lincoln 12, Saul 2: Shane O'Connor went 2-for-4 with two RBI to
help make a winner of Devin Wirt (six-inning four-hitter). Rob Cowie contributed two hits,
two RBI.
Washington 10, Prep Charter 0: Harry Parfitt fanned seven in a
five-inning three-hitter and Ada Eisman went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI. He had a
two-run single in a five-run first and two-run double in a four-run second.
Frankford 17, Dobbins 0: Joe Farina pitched a five-inning perfect
game, his second of the season, with 13 strikeouts and had two triples en route to five
RBI. The other two outs were grounders. Carlos Rivera (three RBI) had a two-run homer.
Central 11, Franklin LC 1: Craig Gould allowed three hits and
fanned eight. Support came from Craig Baumbach (4-for-4, double, four RBI) and Brandon
Watson (4-for-4, triple, three RBI).
Edison 12, Roxborough 11: The Owls rallied from an 11-3 deficit to
make Danny Camacho a winner. Braulio Marquez had a two-run homer. Carlos Maldonado went
3-for-4 with two RBI.
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
Conwell-Egan 6, Ryan 1: Chris David fanned eight in a six-hitter and had
an RBI triple as the Eagles earned second place in the North. Tim Carroll had a three-run
homer. Ryan's Fran Schick had a no-hitter before C-E exploded for five in the fifth.
O'Hara 7, North Cath. 3: Kevin Ahern went 3-for-3 with a triple and two
RBI to make Josh Rickards a winner. Joe DiMenna had a two-run triple. North's Danny Paluch
homered.
Judge 10, Dougherty 2: Jim Glowienka threw a three-hittter and
Dale Curry went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and six RBI.
McDevitt 5, Carroll 3: Bob Mitros allowed four hits and Brian
Fisher smacked a three-run double.
MAY 21
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
Wood 14, McDevitt 0: Chris Kirk struck out 14 and threw a
one-hitter, allowing only an infield single in facing 23 batters. Kirk also had three
hits, and catcher Travis Roth added three hits, three runs and two RBI.
Carroll 33, West Cath. 0: No details.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
Penn Charter 14, Malvern 2: Matt Ryan (five RBI) had two
doubles among three hits. Taylor Baum added four RBI.
MAY 20
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
Roman 12, Kennedy-Kenrick 4: Matt Daley pitched a
seven-hitter and received home run support from Anthony Capella (3-for-4, four RBI) and
Chris Corkery.
Bonner 7, Neumann 2 (8 inn.): In a showdown for the fourth playoff
spot in the South. Jay Kluka allowed six hits and Bonner collected six hits in a five-run
eighth. Mike Shalon had a two-run single and J.J. Jordan had two hits in the frame. Shalon
had a two-run double in the second; it was Bonner's only hit through seven innings.
Dougherty 6, Conwell-Egan 3: Dan Metague pitched a six-hitter with
seven strikeouts and Mike Wood went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBI.
O'Hara 8, SJ Prep 4: Mike Antonini fanned eight in six innings as
the Lions clinched first in the South. Brian Campbell added a double and two RBI while
Nick Longmore scored twice. Prep's Jim Fee went 3-for-4.
La Salle 6, North 4: Dan Waters struck out eight to outduel Shaun
Gallagher and clinch first in the North for the Explorers. Andrew Carnevale's RBI triple
made it 4-4 in the fifth and Kevin McLoughlin's RBI single made it 5-4.
Ryan 13, McDevitt 4: Mike Maule went 3-for-4 with a triple and
three RBI to make Tom Dolan a winner. Greg Michalowski and Joe Kline added two RBI apiece.
McDevitt's Anthony Kunz doubled and tripled.
Wood 4, Judge 2: Bryan Parsons got the win. Andrew Sierocki
doubled.

PUBLIC LEAGUE
DIVISION B PLAYOFF
Edison 4, Olney 3: Oscar Colon's single scored German Sanchez
in the home seventh after Carlos Rosado's two-run single had created a 3-3 tie in the top
half.
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
Neumann 4, West 1 (8 inn.): Jon Brady pitched a
three-hitter with seven strikeouts and Joe Camperchioli's RBI single capped a three-run
visiting eighth. Tom Daly doubled and tripled.
La Salle 13, SJ Prep 6: Dave Achey went 5 1/3 innings for the win.
Kevin McLoughlin (four RBI), Pat Riley and Tony Liberatore (three apiece) all went
3-for-4. Prep's Rob McDonnell doubled and tripled.
McDevitt 6, North 5 (8 inn.): Brian Mitros delivered an RBI single
in the visiting eighth to make a winner of his brother, Bob. Brian stole fve bases and
scored twice. Tim Myers had two RBI. Mike Berretta went the distance for North.
Judge 4, Roman 3: Joe Cione spun a five-hitter. Consecutive
doubles by Eric Blade (two-run), Steve Sellers and Kevin McDevitt fueled a four-run third.
Dale Curry added three hits, including a double.
Conwell-Egan 7, Bonner 6: Matt Fischer went 3-for-4 with three
RBI.
Kennedy-Kenrick 11, Dougherty 6: Dan Connor went 3-for-4 with three RBI
while Victor Evangelist went 3-for-4.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
Malvern 10, Chestnut Hill 0: Will Romanowicz fanned nine
in a four-hitter.
Gtn. Academy 3, Haver. School 0: Sean Grieve whiffed 14 in a
three-hitter as the champion Patriots finished 9-1 in league play. Tyler Stampone and Matt
Bruderek had RBI.
Episcopal 10, Penn Charter 5: Jason Brown went the distance to get
the win for EA and had an RBI single, Brian FitzPatrick and Joe Rosati had RBI singles and
Dan Williams collected a two-run double on a popup lost in the sun.

CATHOLIC LEAGUE
Kennedy-Kenrick 10, Bonner 7: Jon
Smolenski pitched a three-hitter. Marcus Ronca poled a three-run homer en route to four
RBI and Josh Eidell added two RBI.
La Salle 8, Wood 7: Tony Liberatore had a two-run homer and
an RBI single to make it 8-0. Travis Roth hit a grand slam for Wood.

INTER-AC LEAGUE
Gtn. Academy 7, Chestnut Hill 0: The Patriots (8-1) clinched
their first title since '96 as Joe Matteo pitched a two-hitter and Matt Bruderek clubbed a
three-run triple.
Penn Charter 8, Haverford School 1: Mickey Maley had two hits,
two RBI. R.J. Hollinshead added two doubles for winner Sean Rust.

PUBLIC LEAGUE
Prep Charter 4, Dobbins 1: PC, a
first-year PL member, earned second in Division C as Matt Brydges pitched a three-hitter
with six strikeouts and Steve McCann stroked a two-run single in a three-run second.
Cedric McNear had an RBI double for third-place Dobbins.
Edison 10, Mastbaum 9: Braulio Marquez homered and scored the
winning run in the visiting seventh on Matthew Padro's single. Danny Camacho got the win.
Oscar Colon had three doubles.
Northeast 14, Bartram 0: Craig Solomon earned the easy win.
Washington 8, Lincoln 4: Eric Seidman saved Dennis Massott's win
ad Marcus Kennedy went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two steals.
Germantown 11, Overbrook 1: Haneef Hill pitched a five inning
two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and slammed a three-run homer.
Frankford 3, Central 2: Carlos Rivera fanned nine in a six-hitter.
With two outs in the sixth, Cory Shaeffer was hit by a pitch, Howard Sherman doubled and
Carlos Masip delivered an RBI single to break a 2-2 tie.
Franklin 12, Penn 2: Darell Daniels allowed four hits.
Gratz 11, Lamberton 7: Karl Howard went the distance and Akeem
Sanders doubled twice. Losing pitcher Tim Bryant doubled and tripled.
Kensington 14, King 2: Josh Williams fanned eight in six innings.
Mansion 10, E&S 7: Matthew Johnson had three hits and five
RBI.

North Cath. 4, Judge 2: Working on two days rest, Shaun
Gallagher fired a four-hitter with seven strikeouts. Chris Wenger (2-for-3, two RBI) and
Brian Wehrman (2-for-3, triple, two runs scored) led the offense.
Roman 1, SJ Prep 0: Matt Daley pitched a three-hitter with 10 whiffs and
Jim McKeaney (double) scored in the second on Joe Jelinski's fielder's choice.
O'Hara 5, Carroll 4 (12 inn.): In the home 12th, Sean Barksdale
singled, stole two bases and scored on a wild pitch to make reliever Mike Antonini (one
inning) a winner. Kevin Ahern's two-run homer with two out in the seventh forced extra
innings.
Wood 10, Neumann 4: Travis Roth was 3-for-4 (two doubles)
and Chris Kirk notched a complete game.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
Gtn. Academy 1, Episcopal 0: Peter Vernon allowed four
hits and fanned five as the Patriots (7-1) clinched a tie for the title. In the fourth,
Dan Overcash doubled and scored on Matt Brown's single.

Gratz 5, Southern 4: Donald Curtis lashed
a two-run double in the sixth to provide a 5-3 lead and make a winner of Johnny Torres
(six-hitter, nine strikeouts).
Frankford 21, Northeast 4: Matt Colon smacked three-run and solo
homers to make Cory Shaeffer a winner. Andrew Lihotz homered for Northeast.
Lincoln 20, Bartram 10: Rick Bates got the win and went 3-for-6 with a
double and three runs scored. Andrew Brown and Randall Eggleton each went 2-for-4 for
Bartram.
Olney 6, Mastbaum 3: Edwin DeLeon scattered seven hits and had a
key double. Mastbaum's Johnny Marrero fanned nine.

La Salle 6, McDevitt 0: Dan Waters mowed down 13 in a
five-hitter and went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Kevin McLoughlin added two doubles, two

SJ Prep 1, Kennedy-Kenrick 0: K-K's Josh Eidell pitched a
one-hitter and it decided the game in the home seventh as Kevin Walker singled home Mark
Noonan. Joe McElwee fanned just one in a five-hitter.
North 10, Wood 4: Brian Wehrman got the win and Stan Orzechowski
went 3-for-4 with a double. Chris Wenger added two hits, one RBI.
Neumann 13, Carroll 8: Christian Lannutti (3-for-4, four RBI),
winner Jon Brady and Joe Camperchioli homered for Neumann while Billy Canady went 3-for-5
with two doubles and three steals. Pete Novak and John Gardner homered for Carroll.
Bonner 4, Roman 3: Jay Kluka spun a four-hitter with eight
strikeouts and J.J. Jordan (solo homer) scored the decisive run in the visiting seventh on
a walk. Roman's Anthony Capella had a two-run homer.
Dougherty 5, Ryan 3: Dan Metague fanned eight while adding two
hits and one RBI. Chris Jackson had two RBI.
Judge 9, C-Egan 0: Steve Sellers pitched a two-hit shutout, and
helped himself with a double, triple and two runs batted in.
O'Hara 14, West Catholic 1: Kyle Reynolds allowed three hits and
struck out six. Kevin Ahern (3 for 3, three RBI) and Joe DiMenna (2 for 4, three RBI) hit
home runs.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
Penn Charter 8, Chestnut Hill 1: Matt Ryan got the win
and went 2-for-2 with a double, triple and two RBI. Dave Skinner went 2-for-3 and scored
twice.

Saul 16, Furness 14: Mike Koszowski had two triples and
three RBI, and Andy Godlewski added two triples and two runs scored.
Edison 19, FLC 6: German Sanchez homered in a 17-hit attack.
Southern 14, Lamberton 6: Mike Montana and Mark Lee each went 3
for 4 and combined for five RBI.
Central 17, Roxborough 2: Mark Gillmans three hits and three
RBI, and John Bauhofs three RBI supported pitcher Kevin Hausch.
CATHOLIC LEAUE
C-Egan 2, North Catholic 0: Chris David threw a five-hit
shutout with five strikeouts. Nick Natriello was 3 for 3 with a double and stole three
bases to reach 20 for the season.
Judge 7, Ryan 2: Dan Higgins and Steve Sellers each posted two
hits, two runs scored and a run batted in.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
Malvern 1, Germantown Ac. 0: Will Romanowicz pitched a
no-hitter with nine strikeouts and one walk. Buck Schaafs sacrifice fly plated Paul
Keldsen in the seventh.
Episcopal 8, Haverford School 2: Dan Williams homered, and Joe
Rosati contributed two singles, a triple, two runs and three RBI.
MAY 12
PUBLIC LEAGUE
Frankford 3, Northeast 2: Carlos Rivera's second RBI came in the home
seventh and plated Adam Hartman with the winning run. Joe Farina pitched a four-hitter
with 11 strikeouts to outduel Andrew Lihotz.
Mastbaum 5, Saul 4 (9 inn): Jose Colon struck out 14
batters but Mastbaum needed four walks to get the winning run in the ninth inning.
Edison 12, Furness 2: German Sanchez poked a two-run single in the
first and winning pitcher Luis Garcia tripled.
Central 13, Roxborough 3: Mark Gillman homered, and Kurt Haverly
and Erick Navas each had two hits and drove in two runs.
GAMP 10, Washington 4: David Scirrotto knocked in five runs,
including a three-run homer. Kyle Torreiro added three RBI.
Lamberton 5, Franklin 4 (8 inn.): Tim Bryant struck out 14 and got
the win when Dennis Gainers infield single scored Brandon Lovell.
Germantown 16, King 10: Akil Stokes went 3 for 5 with a homer and
three RBI, and Corey Pace struck out 11 in four innings. League officials decided that
G-town's six forfeits will stand; they came when the team was without a coach to start PL
play.
E&S 8, Penn 1: Kevin Nuble and Maurice Hinson had doubles.
Dobbins 15, Overbrook 10: Cedric McNear and Tyrone Barringer each
had a single and a double, and Keon Richardson was 3 for 3 with three runs scored.
Lincoln 11, Bartram 1: Michael Hearn drove in three runs, and
winning pitcher Shane OConnor had a single, double and scored twice.
Bok 17, FLC 16: Davyon Brooks drove in seven runs with two singles
and a double, and Joe DeSalis homered. Anthony Bove homered for FLC.
Kensington 14, Gratz 4: Francis Colon went 3 for 3 with three runs
scored and also pitched five innings with eight strikeouts.
Prep Charter 18, West Phila. 0: William McGovern got 14 of 15 outs
by strikeout, and Matt Brydges and Kevin ODonnell (grand slam) hit home runs.
Olney 15, Fels 5: Kelington Tejada homered, pitcher Edwin DeLeon
had two doubles, and Carlos Rosado added a double and a triple.

La Salle 6, C-Egan 4: Winning pitcher Dave Achey matched
Nick Brechbill with two hits and one RBI each.
McDevitt 8, Judge 7 (8 inn.): Sean Cahills two-out single
scored Steve Norris with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Robert Dougherty had
a three-run homer and five RBI. McDevitt rallied from a 7-0 deficit.
Ryan 7, Wood 4: Tom Dolan hit a three-run homer and also pitched
six innings for the win.
North Catholic 8, Dougherty 2: Tim Wallace drove in three runs,
Mike Berretta scored twice and Shaun Gallagher pitched five shutout innings.
OHara 7, Bonner 4: Steve Cook, Brian Placido and Nick
Longmore each had two hits.
Carroll 7, K-Kenrick 5: Carroll notched its school-record 11th
straight league win behind Frank Gaileys 10 strikeouts. KKs Jon Smolenski had
two doubles and a triple.
Roman 8, West Catholic 0: Sal Zampitella pitched a one-hitter with
nine strikeouts and one walk.
SJ Prep 6, Neumann 2: John Griffin doubled in three runs in the
second inning and Bob Muth doubled in two runs in the third.

Justin Stewart had two hits and two RBI.
King 10, Gratz 9 (8 inn): In the bottom of the eighth, DeShan
Lupton walked, stole second, advanced on a fielders choice and scored the winning
run on Larry Allens single up the middle. Gratz' Akeem Sanders hit a three-run
homer.
Central 8, GAMP 5 (9 inn.): Central scored three in the ninth to
win. Craig Baumbach hit a two-run homer in the sixth.

10 and scattered five hits.

E&S 19, Southern 12: Kevin Nuble hit a home run, and
Kevin Knight went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles.
Kensington 10, Overbrook 1: Ed McCleery knocked in four runs,
Antonio Rodriguez poked three hits and Josh Williams struck out 11 batters.
FLC 16, Bok 6: Roger Catlett homered and Victor Meronyck lined two
doubles among FLCs 10 hits.
Saul 14, Fels 10: Mike Koszowski was 4 for 5 with a double and
three-run homer.
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
Wood 6, McDevitt 3: Andrew Sierockis three-run
double in the fourth inning was the game-winning hit.
North Catholic 9, Judge 2: Shaun Gallagher struck out 10 and
also hit a two-run homer. Chris Wenger was 3 for 3 and Stan Orzechowski homered.
La Salle 7, Dougherty 1: Jim Harkins doubled and tripled for three
RBI, and Doug Interrante singled and doubled for two RBI.
K-Kenrick 14, West Catholic 0: In the first game of a
doubleheader, Chris Lubanski was 5 for 5, hitting for the cycle, including a three-run
homer. Josh Eidell threw a one-hitter.
K-Kenrick 23, West Catholic 2: Lubanski had two triples and a
homer, went 5 for 6, including three hits in a 15-run fourth inning, and finished the
doubleheader 10 for 11 with 12 RBI.
Carroll 8, Roman 0: Carroll took sole possession of first place

La Salle 9, Ryan 5: Dan Waters (three-run triple) and Andrew
Carnevale (two-run single) had big hits to make Anthony Massaro a winner.
Dougherty 7, McDevitt 6: Winning pitcher Jose Medina, Chris
Jackson, Mike Copestick and Bill Van Sciver had two hits apiece for the winners. Pat
Peters scored the winning run on an error.
Roman 14, Neumann 1: Jim McKeaney had four hits, including a
grand slam. Anthony Capella homered while Joe Jelinski and Pete Fischer added three hits
apiece.
Carroll 5, Bonner 3: Ryan Stewart delivered a grand slam.
Brian Rorick saved Frank Gailey's win.
West 3, SJ Prep 2: Kyle Whalen went the distance and his
mates were guilty of just one error. Chris Sheeran had two hits, including an RBI double,
and turned a spirit-killing doubleplay in the seventh. The Burrs had dropped 41 of their
last 42 CL games.

CATHOLIC LEAGUE
Ryan 9, Kennedy-Kenrick 8: Mike Maule doubled and homered for four RBI,
and Anthony Carter singled down the left-field line in the bottom of the seventh to drive
in Nick DiEnno with the winning run.
La Salle 4, Neumann 3: Andrew Karnevales sacrifice fly drove
in Danny Waters with the deciding run.
Dougherty 13, West Catholic 3: Dan Metague tripled and homered,
and Bill Van Sciver doubled twice for Dougherty, which scored nine runs in the third
inning.
McDevitt 6, Bonner 5: Jim Romanos triple brought in the
winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Andrew Kovach contributed a double and two RBI.
Bonners John Cucinotta and Kevin Horning homered.
SJ Prep 10, Wood 3: Kevin Walker clubbed a grand slam in the first
inning, and Tom Noonan and winning pitcher Jim See each had a single, double and two RBIs.
Roman 13, North Catholic 8: Jim McKeaney drove in five runs with
two doubles and a triple, Pat Dunn homered, and Chris Corkery had three hits, four runs
scored, three RBI and three stolen bases.
OHara 3, Judge 1: Michael Antonini pitched a complete game
with three strikeouts, no walks and three hits allowed.
Carroll 1, Conwell-Egan 0: Brandon Gribbin fashioned a three-hit
shutout with eight strikeouts. Carroll got a first-inning run when Chris Cashman singled
with two outs for the RBI.

Conwell-Egan 5, North Catholic 4: In the 10th inning, Tim
Carroll singled in the winning run.
Ryan 5, Judge 2: Fran Schick allowed no earned runs in a
complete-game effort. Mike Maule was 2 for 4 with three runs scored, and Nick Dienno,
Anthony Carter and Mike Leone drove in a run apiece.
O'Hara 13, Kennedy-Kenrick 12: O'Hara tied the game with five runs
in the bottom of the sixth on Sean Barksdale's two-run homer and Kevin Ahern's three-run
homer, and won it in the eighth on Paul Titchenell's two-out, RBI single.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
Haverford School 4, Chestnut Hill 3: Nick Tom drew a
bases-loaded walk in the fifth inning to force in the winning run, making a winner of
pitcher Tom Close.
Germantown Acad. 5, Penn Charter 3: Sean Grieve (five innings)
outdueled Matt Ryan (121 pitches) and Pete Vernon earned the save by inducing a
bases-loaded doubleplay grounder to end it.

Carroll 2, Kennedy-Kenrick 0: Frank Gailey scattered six hits in doing the
nearly impossible, pitching a shutout at Carroll's tiny field. Dave Puliti (double) and
Brian Rorick (RBI single) had hits in a two-run fourth. K-K's Jon Smolenski pitched a
four-hitter with 11 strikeouts.
SJ Prep 11, Neumann 2: Joe McElwee fanned 10 in a seven-hitter.
La Salle 3, Conwell-Egan 2 (8 inn.): Dan Waters allowed five hits,
whiffed 10 and drove in the winning run. Tim Harkins went 3-for-4. Kevin McLoughlin went
2-for-2 with an RBI. Matt Burns and Matt Fischer doubled for C-E.
Judge 8, McDevitt 1: Dale Curry had four RBI on a double and
triple. Chris Panas went 4.2 innings for the win.
Roman 19, West 5: Anthony Capella went 4-for-6 with a double and
four RBI. Jim McKeaney had two RBI. Mike Krimm went four innings for the win.
Bonner 10, O'Hara 6: Frank Nunan fanned seven in four innings and
homered.
North 5, Dougherty 0: Shaun Gallagher pitched a one-hitter with 10
strikeouts and one walk. Mike Berretta went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Wood 3, Ryan 1: Brian Klumpp spun a two-hitter with eight Ks.
Justin Cunnane's two-run single highlighted a three-run fourth.

Episcopal 7, Chestnut Hill 1: Jason Brown shook off 10
hits and struck out six. Matt Deasey had a two-run triple and Fran Grunde went 2-for-3

five-inning five-hitter, and also went 2 for 2 with a double, triple, two runs scored and

GAMP 5, Washington 2: Mario Malatino struck out 15, including the
last seven batters he faced, and gave up three hits. In
GAMPs five-run third inning, Anthony Caines had a successful suicide squeeze bunt
and Davis Scirrotto singled in a run.
Mastbaum 8, Saul 4: Jose Colon fanned 11 to get the win, but gave
up a homer to losing pitcher Mike Koszowski, who struck
out 12.
Gratz 17, E&S 10: Winning pitcher Johnny Torres hit a
three-run homer, and Philip Harris (two runs) and Kareem Sanders
(three RBI) had two hits each.

Roman 11, Carroll 1: Chris Corkery (four RBI) hit a
three-run homer in the first and Jerry Reed (four RBI) hit a two-run
homer in the second in support of pitcher Matt Daley (11 strikeouts).

Germantown Acad. 3, Haverford School 0: Pete
Vernons fourth start was his fourth win, a seven-strikeout, five-hit shutout. In
the three-run sixth, Matt Bruderek doubled in a run and Tyler Stampone doubled in two.

McAllisters two-run single.
Frankford 5, Lincoln 0: Carlos Rivera fanned 12, and Joe Farina
(two runs scored) and Andrew Bracero had two hits apiece in a 10-hit attack.
Fels 9, Furness 6: Michael Raimo lined three doubles.
Franklin 5, S. Mansion 4: Winning pitcher Luis Santiago had
11strikeouts and also drove in the winning run.
Bartram 20, Roxborough 9: Jerry Rogers went 3 for 4 and scored
four runs, and winning pitcher Jason Mink was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Washington 3, Central 2: Jim Miceletti scored the deciding run in
the eighth on Ken Radziaks bunt. Bruce Bauer and winning pitcher Harry Parfitt (3-0)
slapped RBI doubles.
Olney 9, Bok 6: Olney rallied from a 6-2 deficit behind Edwin
DeLeon (3 for 4, two RBI) and Carlos Rosado (2 for 3, three RBI).

Judge 8, La Salle 7: Pinch-hitter Eric Blade drove in the
tying run and scored the winning run on a hit by Dan Winterbottom (2 for 3, three RBI).
McDevitt 7, Conwell-Egan 5: Andrew Kovach and Bob Mitros (two RBI)
had two hits each in support of Brian Rooneys complete-game pitching.
Ryan 4, North Catholic 3: Rob Fisher and Joe Kline scored two runs
each for Ryan. Norths Stan Orzechowski homered.
OHara 17, Roman 4: Sean Barksdale hit a grand slam in the
first inning, Joe DiMenna knocked in five runs, Brian Campbell was 3 for 4 and Kevin Ahern
had three RBI.
Bonner 9, West Catholic 0: Frank Nunan hurled a six-inning
no-hitter with 14 strikeouts and also had two doubles during a seven-run third inning.
SJ Prep 4, Carroll 1: Jim Fee went 3 for 3 at the plate, scored
twice, drove in two runs and also handled the pitching chores with eight strikeouts.
Neumann/Kennedy-Kenrick: Result not final. Game was suspended by

Wood 6, Dougherty 1: Sophomore Chris Kirk threw a one hitter. Multiple
hit performances were turned in by Andrew Sieracki (3), Travis Roth (2) and Kirk
(2). Sean Regan had a two-run double in the sixth.

Strawberry Mansion 8, King 7: Brandon Powell drew a walk
in the bottom of the seventh to force in Darius Humphries with the winning run.
Saul 17, Bok 7: Andy Godlewski doubled twice, hit a solo homer and
finished with four RBI. Mike Koszowski contributed three hits, three RBI and three runs
scored.
Central 14, Bartram 9: Central scored 10 in the top of the first
and Craig Gould pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts for the win.
Prep Charter 19, Lamberton 9: Matt Brydges had two doubles, three
RBI and scored three times. John DeMarco added a double and triple.
Franklin 12, E&S 2: Darell Daniels fanned 10 batters, Darrell
Fincher had three hits and scored three times, and Frank Anderson also scored three runs.
Mastbaum 11, Furness 2: Jose Colon allowed three hits in the five-inning
game to get the win.
GAMP 8, Roxborough 3: Dominic DeMarco poked two singles and drove
in a pair of runs.

North Catholic 13, West Catholic 1: Stan Orzechowski led the win
with three hits, three runs, two steals and two RBI. Brian Wehrman and Danny Paluch each
chipped in with two hits and two RBI.
Neumann 5, McDevitt 2: John Brady doubled in a run, William Canady
tripled in another and winning pitcher Michael Clancy was one out short of a
nine-strikeout complete game.

season aided an 88-pitch, seven-strikeout complete game by Frank Gailey.

Bartram 11, Washington 3: Chironn "Goober" Davis
cracked three triples and a single. The Maroon Wave scored three unearned runs in the
fourth inning to take a 5-1 lead.
