CATHOLIC LEAGUE
   Wood 6, Judge 1: Dan Mueller allowed five hits and Justin Cunnane went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Judge's Paul Koenig fanned seven in five innings.
   Conwell-Egan 11, North 1: Jim Coon (four RBI) and Vince Salvatore (triple, two RBI) helped make Tim Carroll a winner in his first start.
   La Salle 5, Dougherty 0: Dan Waters (5-0) pitched a six-hitter while lowering his ERA to 0.90. Scott Beard had a double and triple en route to two RBI.
   Ryan 8, McDevitt 0: Tom Dolan pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and went 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Mike Pekach had two RBI.
   O'Hara 6, SJ Prep 3 (8 inn.): Mark Barrar posted five RBI on a two-run homer in the sixth and a three-run shot in the eighth. Ted Rydesky allowed seven hits.
   Kennedy-Kenrick 7, Neumann 3: Chris Lubanski went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBI. Joe Zazworskey went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Sean McManus went the distance.
   Carroll 8, Roman 7: Mike Costanzo's grand slam and Jim Gillin's three-run homer helped to make Frank Gailey a winner. The eighth run scored in the home seventh on Anthony Altomare's sacrifice fly.
   Bonner 5, West 0: Frank Nunan pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts while E.J. Pietropola and Nick Condo had two RBI apiece.

   Washington 14, Roxborough 4:
Matt Kane (three RBI) and Rob Ritterson (two-run triple) supported Matt Gilson.
   Olney 12, Eng. and Science 0: Carlos Beltre fanned seven in four innings and went 3-for-3 with a triple and homer for two RBI. Eddie Ortiz also homered.
   Dobbins 20, Gratz 10: Winner Jamil Phillips went 3-for-4 with a double.
   Franklin LC 10, King 0: Cody Worthy pitched a five-inning one-hitter with 15 strikeouts and went 4-for-4 with five RBI. Chris Bragg cracked a two-run homer.
   Bartram 9, Edison 6: Phil Obiesie got the win, though Mike Marquez and Roman LeBron homered for Edison.
   Kensington 15, Germantown 8: Josh Williams allowed three hits, fanned nine and homered twice.

MAY 3
INTER-AC LEAGUE
   Malvern 8, Penn Charter 0: Paul Keldsen pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Matt Skellan (two-run homer), Ryan Burton (3-for-3, three RBI) and Joe Milani (two doubles, RBI) paced the offense.
   Episcopal 4, Chestnut Hill 1: Ted Oberwager allowed six hits.
   Haver. School 5, Gtn. Academy 1: Tom Close fanned nine in a five-hitter. Matt Scavitto had a two-run homer.
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
   Bonner 9, Carroll 7: Kevin Horning went five innings for the win and had two hits, two RBI. Nick Condo went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI. Jason Smith also had two RBI. Carroll's Mike Costanzo hit homers good for two and three runs en route to six RBI.
   O'Hara 2, Kennedy-Kenrick 0: Mark Barrar pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks.
  North 11, Dougherty 9: Mike "Pio" Piotrowicz went 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Mike Karpovich (3-for-4) and Brian Hannan both had three RBI.
   Ryan 4, Judge 1: Fran Schick went six innings for the win and Andy MacDonald tripled en route to two RBI.

MAY 5
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
   O'Hara 2, Conwell-Egan 1: Ted Rydesky pitched a six-hitter with nine strikeouts and had one RBI on a sacrifice fly. Brett Altman doubled in the other run.

MAY 6
CATHOLIC LEAGUE

   Wood 13, McDevitt 5: Dan Mueller allowed eight hits while fanning as many. Kyle Brennecke, Justin Cunnane and Matt Connolly had three RBI apiece.
   North 5, Ryan 4: Shaun Gallagher went six innings for the win. Mike Karpovich had a double and two RBI, including the game-winner.
   SJ Prep 9, Neumann 1: Ryan O'Hagan went six innings in a three-hitter and Eric Smith went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI.

MAY 7
PUBLIC LEAGUE
   Frankford-Central: Game halted by plate ump Chuck Gephart in top of the sixth after ejection of Frankford coach Bob Peffle, and subsequent outburst by Peffle. Will be completed May 16. Frankford leads, 7-2.
   GAMP 15, Bartram 7: Anthony Caines fanned eight and Jeff Colon tripled en route to four RBI.
   Washington 14, Northeast 4: Donny Rowley (single), Matt Kane (double) and Jason Welte (triple) had two-run hits in a 10-run home fifth that ended it. Rob Ritterson got the win.
   Roxborough 12, Edison 4: Mike Gibbs fanned 12 in a five-hitter and smacked a two-run homer. Andrew Stridiron went 3-for-4 with two triples and two RBI. Jamaul Reed homered.
   Saul 12, Fels 0: Mike Koszowski hit a two-run homer in the fourth and a grand slam in the fifth to end it. Andrew Godlewski had two RBI. John Loftus got the win.
   Mastbaum 14, Eng. and Science 4: Luis Alicea and Wilson Ribot had two RBI apiece to make Jose "Tito" Colon a winner.
   Olney 11, Furness 1: Eddie Ortiz and Daniel Martinez had two-run homers and Ivan Colon pitched a five-inning two-hitter.
   Bok 11, Lincoln 1: Shawn Jeter had a double and triple to support Joe Ancello.
   Franklin LC 8, Kensington 3: Anthony Bove and Terrell Harris had three and two hits, respectively, with a triple among them, to make Cody Worthy a winner.
   King 8, Franklin 4: Roberto Hernandez struck out 15 and walked five in an eight-hitter while adding two RBI. Renardo Grant had a three-run double.
   Univ. City 11, Overbrook 7: Rodney Austin struck out nine. Shanir Taylor went 3-for-4 with two triples and five RBI while Laurence Jones homered.
  Dobbins 13, Mansion 12: William Walter (five RBI) made reliever Jamil Phillips a winner with a solo homer in the visiting seventh.
   Germantown 15, Gratz 5: Winner Brandon Cuff had two hits, two RBI. Chris Johnson doubled twice en route to five RBI.
   Lamberton 20, West 10: Winner Tim Bryant and Robert Harvey had three hits, three RBI.
   Southern-Penn: Moved to today.
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
   Ryan 3, Wood 2: Tom Dolan pitched a six-hitter with seven whiffs and Andy MacDonald won it with an RBI single in the home seventh.
   Judge 4, North 2: Drew Mammarella pitched 3.1 innings in relief to win it. Josh Link and Dale Curry had key RBI.
   La Salle 6, McDevitt 0: John Reifsnyder pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts and was supported by Chris Jeffers (2-for-3, three RBI) and Mark D'Angelo (3-for-3).
   Dougherty 9, Conwell-Egan 7: Sean McGovern fanned 11. Dustin Overturf and Chris Jackson both went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBI.
   O'Hara 19, West 0: Michael Antonini pitched a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts and was supported by seven homers. Those by Joe DiMenna (two), Brett Altman (two) and Brian Placido were solos. Mark Barrar's two went for three runs and two runs.
   Bonner 2, Roman 1: Randy Milia pitched a five-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Nick Condo cracked a two-run homer. Roman's Pete Doyle fanned 10 in a two-hitter.
   Carroll 15, Neumann 5: Frank Gailey fanned eight in six innings and helped himself with a grand slam. Mike Costanzo and Jim Gillin also homered.
   Kennedy-Kenrick 7, SJ Prep 3: No details available.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
   Gtn. Academy 2, Penn Charter 1: GA's Pete Vernon and PC's Taylor Baum traded five-hitters. Matt Bruderek broke a 1-1 tie in the home sixth with a homer.
   Malvern 6, Episcopal 3: Homers by Joe Illgas (two-run) and D.J. Reagoso (solo) provided a 5-1 lead in the visiting fifth. Paul Keldsen retired 11 of the 12 batters he faced. Episcopal's Adam Murray doubled and hit a solo homer.
   Haver. School 7, Chestnut Hill 0: Mike Vail went six innings for the win while Noah Cooper went 3-for-4 with a double and triple.

MAY 8
PUBLIC LEAGUE
   Frankford 7, Edison 4: Joe Farina pitched a three-hitter and Joe Manini clubbed a two-run homer. Edison's Mike Marquez also homered.
   Bartram 14, Roxborough 11: Ian Greaves went 3-for-5 and smacked a two-run homer in a four-run visiting sixth, erasing an 11-10 deficit. Horatio Henry toughed out a 15-hitter. For Roxborough, Chuck Richardson had two doubles and a solo homer.
   Fels 12, Eng. and Science 1: Michael Raimo fanned 11 in six innings and Jim Carr went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI.
   Mastbaum 2, Bok 1: Johnny Marrero (four-hitter, 10 whiffs) got the better of Justin Lannutti (three, 11). Carl "Pudge" Bender stroked an RBI single to break a 1-1 tie in the fifth.
   Gratz 4, King 1: Kazeem Sanders allowed four hits and struck out 13. He also posted a solo homer among three hits. King's Renardo Grant fanned 13 in six innings.
   Southern 14, Penn 5: Carlos Corona helped himself with a two-run double. Demetrius Hayes stroked three hits.
   Franklin LC 12, Overbrook 2: Terrell Harris got the win and Roger Catlett had three hits, two RBI.
   Franklin 5, Mansion 5: The tie will not be replayed.
   Kensington 12, Dobbins 2: Jorge Domenech pitched a three-hitter in six innings. Francis Colon homered and James Heron went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBI.
   Germantown 13, Lamberton 11: Haneef Hill fanned 15 and doubled twice. Michael Fulton and Derek Washington homered.
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
   Bonner 2, Judge 0: Kevin Horning pitched a four-hitter with seven strikeouts. In the sixth, Randy Milia homered and Tim D'Orazio doubled in Frank Nunan. Judge's Joe Cione pitched a six-hitter.
   Conwell-Egan 4, West 1: Todd Puzycki allowed two hits while Matt Fischer had two triples en route to one RBI.
  Dougherty 9, Carroll 3: Dustin Overturf allowed three hits and received help from Mark Lynch (three hits, two RBI) and Matt Nemcik (solo homer).

   Conwell-Egan 4, La Salle 3: C-E scored three in the home seventh as Gary Stricker delivered a two-run double with the bases loaded (the winning run continued home on an error). Vince Salvatore had an RBI single in the third. Mike Kane and La Salle's Dan Waters traded six-hitters.
   Roman 7, West 1: Rob Medlock pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and Jim McKeaney socked a solo homer.
   O'Hara 4, Wood 2: Ted Rydesky pitched a five-hitter and Mike Essery went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Justin Cunnane homered for Wood.
   Bonner 11, Ryan 2: Paul McNichol went six innings for the win. Frank Nunan smacked two homers for five RBI, Tim D'Orazio hit a two-run shot and Jason Smith and Randy Milia both went 3-for-3.
  SJ Prep 5, Judge 1: Mike Muth allowed five hits in six innings and Joe McElwee worked a perfect seventh. Steve Loke's three-run homer expanded a 2-1 lead. For Judge, Paul Koenig fanned eight in 5.2 innings and contributed two doubles.
  McDevitt 3, Kennedy-Kenrick 2: Bob Mitros saved Brian Rooney's win by getting two seventh-inning strikeouts. The last came with a runner on third.
PUBLIC LEAGUE
   Frankford 18, Washington 4: Joe Manini went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and four runs scored. Carlos Rivera got the win.
   Northeast 14, Roxborough 5: Ken Wlodarczyk's two-run homer and Steve Sandberg's two doubles helped make Ryan Zaztowney a winner. Chuck Richardson homered for Roxborough.
   Olney 7, Saul 3: Winner Edwin DeLeon and Ed Ortiz homered. Andrew Godlewski homered for Saul.
   Central 14, Bartram 4: John Hickey fanned 10 in a five-inning one-hitter and went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
   Eng. and Science 4, Furness 1: David Biddle allowed two hits and fanned 11 as the Engineers finally hit the win column. Murvin Woodlin had a two-run triple.
   Southern 11, Univ. City 0: Tyler Bowker pitched a five-inning one-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Mike Campbell doubled and tripled.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
   Episcopal 19, Penn Charter 14: Ted Oberwager went 4-for-6 for seven RBI and his grand slam capped a seven-run visiting seventh, reversing a 14-12 deficit. Matt Finnegan delivered a two-run single after fouling off numerous pitches. Adam Murray won in relief. Episcopal trailed after one inning, 10-1. For PC, Matt Ryan thumped a three-run homer and Taylor Baum went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and five RBI.
   Gtn. Academy 3, Chestnut Hill 1: Sean Grieve fanned 12 in a seven-hitter and Matt Bruderek went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer.
   Malvern-Haverford: Postponed to Tuesday. Only one ump showed up.

MAY 12
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
   SJ Prep 8, Roman 3: Joe McElwee pitched four shutout innings to win in relief. Steve Loke (four RBI) had a two-run triple to provide a 4-3 lead.

Brett Altman, Brian Campbell and Colin Smith hit back-to-back-to-back homers to support the pitching of Mark Barrar and winner Kevin Paul.

   Lincoln 10, Fels 0: Shane O'Connor pitched a five-inning no-hitter while Rob Cowie (grand slam), Rick Bates and Dan Freitag (two RBI apiece) led the attack.
  Northeast 7, Bartram 3: Ken Wlodarczyk had a three-run triple to make Shawn O'Flynn a winner.
   Edison 10, Central 9 (8 inn.): Ramon Lebron gave himself a win by drving in German Sanchez (HBP, two steals) for the second run of the home eighth. Wilson Torres scored the first on a groundout. Sanchez went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Central's Adam Davis had four hits.
   Frankford 12, GAMP 6: Dave Firth had two homers among five hits, good for five RBI. Matt Colon also homered. Anthony Caines homered for GAMP.
   Saul 18, Furness 8: Andrew Godlewski went 4-for-5 with six RBI and ended the game with a slam in the fifth. The inning began at 8-8. Mike Koszowski went 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBI. Reliever Bill Clark escaped a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the visiting fifth.

   McDevitt 5, North 3 (8 inn.): Doug Garritt (two-run) and Andrew Kovach smacked back-to-back homers in a three-run visiting eighth and Bob Mitros fanned eight in a four-hitter. North's Mike "Pio" Piotrowicz had a two-run double.
   Ryan 10, Conwell-Egan 2: Tom Dolan pitched a five-hitter with seven strikeouts. George Higginson went 3-for-4 with four RBI while Andy MacDonald added two RBI.

   Malvern 9, Haver. School 2: Paul Keldsen allowed three hits and fanned 10 in 6.1 innings while Joe Milani went 3-for-5 with a homer and five RBI. Chris Kolmer also homered. The Friars clinched the title at 8-1 (one game left).
   Gtn. Academy 2, Penn Charter 1: Matt Bruderek pitched a five-hitter. Back-to-back, two-out doubles by Sean Grieve and Joe Matteo broke a 1-1 tie in the visiting seventh.

   Ryan 15, North 5: Tom Dolan went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBI and Mike Pekach had two RBI. Fran Schick got the win. Dan Paluch and Brian Hannan homered for North.
   Wood 6, La Salle 3: Brian Klumpp went five innings for the win. Kyle Brennecke had an RBI and scored two runs.
   Conwell-Egan 7, McDevitt 1: Mike Kane pitched a four-hitter and went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Todd Puzycki added two hits, two RBI.
   Dougherty 2, Judge 1: Sean McGovern fanned 11 in a five-hitter and became a winner in the home seventh when Tom Kee's triple knocked in Joshua Guevara. Judge's Paul Koenig allowed four hits, fanned 11 and lofted a sacrifice fly in the visiting seventh to make it 1-1.
   O'Hara 16, Roman 8: Mark Barrar (double, two solo homers, five RBI), Ted Rydesky (two-run homer) and Joe DiMenna (solo homer) led the assault. Brian Campbell went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Roman's Rob Medlock homered.
   Kennedy-Kenrick 23, West 0: Josh Eidell fanned 13 in a one-hitter. Craig Borzillo had a double and grand slam en route to six RBI. Joe Zazworskey went 4-for-5 with five RBI.

   Washington 8, Bartram 7: Rob Ritterson fanned nine and toughed out a seven-hitter. He also went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
   Saul 7, Bok 3: Mike Szostek's three-run triple fueled a five-run fifth. Bill Clark allowed five hits. Bok's Maurice Hunter doubled and tripled.
   Mastbaum 5, Olney 4: Tony Saccucci knocked in winner Johnny Marrero with a fielder's choice in the home seventh.
   West 13, Dobbins 3: William Ortiz fanned eight in the five-inning game and Terrell Roper had a three-run double. Cedric McNear homered for Dobbins.
   Penn 18, Gratz 8: Corneil Brooks (three RBI) and David Estrell (two) made Cordero Shorter a winner.

   O'Hara 10, Bonner 2: Fran Burbidge, Ted Rydesky and Mark Barrar homered and Mike Antonini fanned eight in 5.1 innings.
  Neumann 16, West 3: Winner John Chambers went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Vinnie DeFedelto went 3-for-4 with a double. West's Dennis Morrow doubled twice.
   Roman 6, McDevitt 0: Matt Daley pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and Anthony Capella had a two-run triple.

   La Salle 4, Ryan 0: Nick Shields walked seven, but allowed just one hit, a bad-hop single in the sixth. Dan Waters had an RBI triple and Mark D'Angelo went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
   Dougherty 9, McDevitt 3: Dustin Overturf allowed seven hits and had two RBI on two hits. Joshua Guevara added three hits and scored three runs.
   Roman 12, Neumann 6: Matt Coyle went four innings for the win and had a two-run triple. Pat Trunfio had a three-run triple.
   Judge 4, Conwell-Egan 3: John Keller (five innings) and Drew Mammarella combined on a four-hitter and Steve Sellers went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

   Malvern 5, Gtn. Academy 0: Will Romanowicz pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts as the champion Friars finished 9-1. Dan Plunkett homered.

MAY 20
CATHOLIC LEAGUE
   Neumann 4, North 3 (8 inn.): Tom Daly went 3-for-4 and singled in John Chambers in the home eighth. Billy Sheridan won in relief. North scored two in the seventh to erase a 3-1 deficit on a doubleplay ball and Dan Paluch's infield single.
   Kennedy-Kenrick 19, Wood 7: Chris Lubanski went 4-for-4 with three homers and nine RBI. Two of his homers were grand slams. Craig Borzillo went 4-for-4 with a homer and four RBI.
   Roman 12, La Salle 2: Anthony Capella had a solo homer, a two-run double and a three-run double for six RBI. Chris Corkery also homered.
INTER-AC LEAGUE
  Haver. School 4, Penn Charter 3 (8 inn.): Mike Vail finished with 10 strikeouts in the completion of a suspended game. He also doubled.

   Ryan 9, Dougherty 0: Tom Dolan pitched a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and had an RBI triple in the first. Mike Pekach went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and three RBI. Dougherty pitcher Sean McGovern remained in the game after being hit flush on the jaw by a liner in the sixth.
   La Salle 7, North 2: Dan Waters fanned nine and went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Chris Ladley had two RBI.
   Wood 5, Conwell-Egan 4: Nick Natriello homered in the visiting seventh to make it 4-3. Matt O'Connor hit a two-run blast in the bottom half to end it. Dan Mueller allowed five hits.
   Judge 7, McDevitt 6 (8 inn.): Joe Cione won in relief as Dan Leonard drove in Josh Link in the home eighth. Dan Graf went 3-for-4 with two RBI. McDevitt's Doug Garritt slammed a two-run homer.
   O'Hara 7, Neumann 2: Ted Rydesky got the win and Mark Barrar hit his 14th homer of the season.
   Bonner 11, SJ Prep 5: Randy Milia fanned seven in six innings. Bobby Ward (solo homer, three RBI), Kevin Horning and Jason Smith (two RBI apiece) led the offense.
   Kennedy-Kenrick 4, Roman 0: Mike O'Brien pitched a four-hitter and went 2-for-3 with a double. Chris Lubanski had two RBI.
   Carroll 22, West 0: Mike Costanzo fanned 12 in five innings and had homers for three and two runs. John Gardner, Anthony Altomare (slam), Ryan McGoldrick and Colin Hale also homered. West (0-18) became the first team to go winless in CL play since SJ Prep in 1991 (0-14). The Burrs are 1-37 in their last 38 league games.

   Kennedy-Kenrick 6, Bonner 3: Dan Rafferty's three-run homer broke a 3-3 tie in the visiting seventh. Chris Lubanski had a two-run homer. Winner Joe Zazworskey surrendered a three-run homer to Randy Milia.

First Round
   Saul 17, Lamberton 5: The Razorbacks sent 14 batters to the plate in an 11-run home sixth that ended the game. Andrew Godlewski (2-for-4, six RBI) capped the outburst with a three-run homer. Bill Clark saved John Loftus' win. Clark had two hits in the sixth. Mike Taylor had two hits, three RBI.
   Franklin LC 13, Engineering and Science 2: Terrell Harris allowed three hits and struck out nine in the six-inning game. Chris Bragg (two doubles) and Billy Griffiths (two hits) led the offense.
  Kensington 11, Furness 4: Francis Colon pitched a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks. Frank Graber's two-run double highlighted an eight-run first. Harllyn Perez had two hits and scored three runs.
  Fels 13, Southern 2: Steve Barnes excelled in the five-inning game, allowing two hits, striking out 14 and collected three RBI on two hits. Michael Raimo added two doubles.
