  1. SJ Prep (10-2)- Handled Thanksgiving rival LaSalle 27-6 in tune up for CL Red Final. QB Chris Whitney helped the cause by rushing for two scores. Can capture their fourth consecutive CL Red crown with win over O’Hara. Slipped by the Lions 12-7 in teams’ first meeting.
  2. O’Hara (10-1)- Will be looking for some revenge against SJ Prep this Saturday in CL Red final. The potent Lion ground attack is led by 1,000-yard rusher Steve Cook. DE John Paul Conneen and LB Mike Marotta anchor a defense that has been as stingy as any throughout the season.
   3. George Washington (12-1)- Got past neighborhood rival Ryan on Thanksgiving Eve, and then came up just short in PIAA quad-A quarterfinal game versus Easton three nights later. The Eagles had a tremendous year and have much to be proud of. RB Jerry Butler capped a brilliant career and season with a 122-yard rushing performance.
   4. West Catholic (11-1)- Smoked Penn Wood, 48-8 on Thanksgiving. RB Chris Diaferio ran for 166 yards and four scores, all in the first half. The Burrs will be making their third consecutive CL Blue Championship appearance this weekend versus Wood.  The Vikings bested the Burrs 17-14 in last year’s final.
   5. Wood (7-4)- The Vikings will bring a balanced offense and hard-hitting defense into their CL Blue Final battle with West. RB Bryan McCartney returned from a shoulder injury and was nothing short of sensational with a 200-yard performance. QB Chris Hanson has quietly thrown for 18 touchdowns.
   6. Episcopal (7-3)- Season over.
   7. Penn Charter (7-3)- Season over.
  8. Roman (8-4)- The Cahillites finished up a successful campaign with Thanksgiving Day win over Roxborough 21-6.
   9. Carroll (8-5)- The Patriot bounced back nicely after semifinal loss to West with 39-0 whitewashing of Shanahan. The explosive Carroll offense rolled to 409 total yards, and 298 yards on the ground.
  10. Central (9-2)- The Lancers tasted some revenge in besting long-time rival Northeast 20-7 on Thanksgiving. The same Northeast squad that eliminated Central from the Pub playoffs three weeks earlier.
Under Consideration:

   Northeast (9-3), Germantown Academy (4-6),  Bok (7-3), Frankford (6-4),  Dobbins (7-5), Conwell-Egan (10-3), & Overbrook (9-3).

NOV. 22

1. SJ Prep (9-2)- The Hawks had no problem in dispatching Bonner in CL Red semifinal. A Thanksgiving game with LaSalle awaits them Thursday. Then it’s back to preparing for O’Hara, the Hawks will be looking for their fourth consecutive CL Red Title.
2. O’Hara (10-1)- Coasted past Ryan in CL Red semifinal, 34-6. RB John Dempsey needed just six rushes to amass 183 yards and three long touchdowns. Will be seeking some revenge when they take on the Hawks in the CL Red final. The Lions fell to the Hawks 12-7 during the regular season.
3. George Washington (11-0)- Not much time to relax, as the Eagles will take on Ryan on Thanksgiving Eve and then battle Easton in a state quarterfinal game Saturday. G-Dub became first District 12 champion when they bested Northeast 30-12.
4. West Catholic (10-1)-  The Burrs squeaked by Carroll 14-12 in a CL Blue semifinal game. LB Michael Evans blocked a Patriots FG late in the fourth quarter. DB John Maddox sealed the game with his ninth INT of the season in the waning moments. A date with Wood awaits them; the Burrs will be looking to avenge last year’s loss in the Blue championship.
5. Wood (7-4)- Smoked Conwell-Egan 40-20 in CL Blue semifinal. Offense rolled to 502 yards in offense. RB Bryan McCartney sprinted to 200 yards and 3 TD’s, while QB Chris Hanson tossed three touchdowns and 211 yards passing. The Vikings will attempt to win back-to-back CL Blue titles when they battle West, a team they lost to in week one, 20-12.
6.  Northeast (9-2)- The Vikings battled, but came up short in their bid to knock-off Pub power GW, 30-12. This team has had a fabulous year, and will try to cap it off with a win over Thanksgiving Day rival Central. The Vikings needed OT to send the Lancers home three weeks ago in D-12 playoffs.
7. Episcopal (7-3)- Season over.
8. Penn Charter (7-3)- Season over.
9. Roman (7-4)- Will look to end the season on a winning note when they battle Roxborough Thanksgiving morning. This team has had a solid season, and will be returning some solid players next season.
10. Carroll (7-5)- Fought tooth-and-nail with the Burrs before coming up short, 14-12. QB Greg Kobilka passed and rushed for a touchdown in loss. Scrappy DB Brian Rorick leads the defense that will travel to take on Bishop Shanahan Thursday morning.
Under Consideration:
  Central (8-2), Lincoln (7-4), Germantown Academy (4-6),  Bok (7-3), Frankford (5-4),  Dobbins (6-5), Conwell-Egan (9-3), & Overbrook (8-3).

NOV. 15

1. SJ Prep (8-2)- The Hawks were idle last week and will play Bonner Friday night in one CL Red semifinal. LB’s Steve Quinn and Andrew Spross lead a defense that has improved from week-to-week. The Hawks will be looking to get a shot to play for their fourth consecutive CL Red title.
2. O’Hara (9-1)- The Lions had a week to rest and will play Ryan, a team they pasted 36-0 earlier this year, in one CL Red semifinal. RB Steve Cook should get a lot of work in his quest to surpass the 1,000-yard barrier.
3. George Washington (10-0)- Annihilated rival Frankford 48-12 in Pub semifinals. The Eagles have scored over forty in four straight games. Will battle Northeast for PUB Title and berth in State playoffs this Saturday.
4. West Catholic (9-1)- The Burrs got a much-needed bye for their walking-wounded this past week. Will take on Carroll Saturday afternoon in one CL Blue semifinal. Handed the Patriots one of their most lopsided losses (42-14) in recent memory, just over a week ago.
5. Northeast (9-1)- Slipped past Dobbins 7-6 in PUB semi’s. Will have the unenviable task of trying to knock off unbeaten Washington in PUB final. Lost to the Eagles 24-6 during regular season.
6. Wood (6-4)- Idle last week. Meeting with county rival Conwell-Egan awaits them this Sunday. Bested the Eagles 23-13 during regular season. Should get a boost with the return of A-C RB Bryan McCartney.
7. Episcopal (7-3)- Hammered Haverford School, 37-7 for share of Inter-Ac title. QB Brian FitzPatrick put an exclamation point on a tremendous season with another 200-yard rushing performance.
8. Conwell-Egan (9-2)- Narrowly got by McDevitt, 3-0 in CL Blue playoff. Will play for right to play in championship this Sunday against rival Wood. RB Steve Slaton will need to be running all cylinders against a tough Viking defensive unit.
9. Penn Charter (7-3)- Earned a hard-fought victory at GA this past weekend. Win allowed them to get piece of Inter-Ac crown with Episcopal and GA. RB Paul Sweeney ran for 164 yards on 31 carries in victory.
10. Roman (7-4)- Fell to Bonner 16-12 in CL Red playoff. Still, this team had a nice year and will look to go out on a winning note in Thanksgiving Day game with Roxborough.
Under Consideration:
Central (8-2), Lincoln (7-4), Germantown Academy (4-6), Carroll (7-4), Bok (7-3), Frankford (5-4), & Dobbins (6-5).

NOV. 8

1. SJ Prep (8-2)- Won their 35th straight CL Red game with easy 31-7 win over Judge. RB John Shaw scored three touchdowns in the win. Have bye this week before quest for fourth straight CL Red crown begins.
2. O’Hara (9-1)- Received serious scare from Roman before edging the Cahillites 24-21 in OT. QB John Ward directed late fourth quarter scoring drive and K Frank D’Angelo provided the difference with a 21-yard FG. Are one win away from much anticipated rematch with SJ Prep
3. George Washington (9-0)- What the Eagles did to the Bears this past weekend was absolute child abuse. Mr. Butler went wild for 216 yards on just nine measly carries, phew! Take on Frankford this weekend in one semifinal match up.
4. West Catholic (9-1)- Gave up early touchdown to Carroll and then reeled off 42 unanswered points before halftime. Frosh QB Eric Brennan tossed four scoring passes, two to star WR John Maddox. The Burrs defense picked-off three more passes, and now have 25 for the season.
5. Roman Catholic (7-3)- Came within :17 seconds of upsetting O’Hara in CL Red dandy. DB Cory Jackson scored his third touchdown on a return this year. Will take on Bonner on first round contest this Friday.
6. Northeast (8-1)- Captured huge Pub quarterfinal win over previously unbeaten Central in OT, 17-14. Will play Dobbins in semis this weekend. This team led by RB/LB Jeremiah Pitt is in the midst of a very good year.
7. Central (8-1)- Were on the short end of the stick in classic battle with Northeast. This team has to have a sour taste in their mouths after entering the game undefeated. Will get a shot at redemption come turkey day.

8. Wood (6-4)- Posted 27-0 shutout over Neumann-Goretti and secured first round bye in CL Blue. LB Bill Gross leads a stingy defense that will look to defend their title.
9. Episcopal (6-3)- Suffered disappointing loss to GA this past weekend. Can only hope for a piece of the Inter-Ac title with win over Haverford School this weekend.
10. Conwell-Egan (8-2)- Ended regular season with convincing 19-0 win over McDevitt. Will face the Lancers again this weekend in CL Blue first round match up. RB Steve Slaton finishes season as serious MVP candidate.
 Under Consideration:
Penn Charter (6-3), Germantown Academy (4-5), Carroll (6-4), Bok (7-2), Frankford (5-3), & Dobbins (6-4).

NOV. 1

1. SJ Prep (7-2)- Got past a tough Wood squad 28-13. QB’s Jim McCormick and Chris Whitney combined for 207 yards passing. Host Judge in season finale before quest for fourth straight CL Red crown begins with a bye week.
2. O’Hara (8-1)- Travel to Roman with winner getting second place. The Lions offense rolled up 421 yards in offense during win over Judge, but Head Coach Dan Algeo will be looking for a better defensive performance this week.
3. George Washington (8-0)- Destroyed Lincoln ending an impressive regular season. Will play Germantown in one quarterfinal this weekend. Anything short of a spot in the state playoffs would be a disappointment.
4. Central (8-0)- Beat Gratz 28-6 and won Mid-Central division. What do they get? A quarterfinal match up with a good Northeast team. Has their soft schedule prepared them enough for a quality opponent? We’ll soon find out!
5. West Catholic (8-1)- Earned a hard-fought win over a game North squad. RB Chris Diaferio scored three times and had 346 all-purpose yards. Host Carroll in season finale in what should be a goody.
6. Episcopal (6-2)- Moved a step closer to an Inter-Ac crown with convincing 28-6 win over Malvern. QB Brian FitzPatrick continues to tear up opposing defenses. In a critical league contest they’ll host GA this Saturday. Win this and title should be theirs.
7. Penn Charter (6-2)- Doubled up on Haverford School 42-21. Travel to play a non-league game at Hill School. Will be looking for GA to upset Episcopal this weekend to keep title hopes alive.

8. Roman (7-2)- Outscored Ryan 27-7 in second half and accumulated 402 yards in doing so. They host O’Hara for a shot at second place and a first round bye. Will be looking to show they belong with a solid outing.
9. Northeast (7-1)- Rebounded nicely with shutout win at Frankford. With the win garnered second place, but get tougher quarterfinal draw with Central.
10. Carroll (6-3)- This team is starting to round into form and has been very impressive during the last few weeks. Will travel to play front-running Burrs Sunday, a win here and second place and a first-round bye is theirs.

Under Consideration:
Conwell-Egan (7-2), Wood (5-4), & Bok (6-2).

OCT. 25

1. SJ Prep (6-2)- Are still the kings of the CL Red, at least for the moment. Used a stingy defense in second half to slip past previously unbeaten O’Hara. Travel to take on decent Wood squad on Saturday.
2. O’Hara (7-1)- Will have to take a backseat to the Hawks for the time being. Redemption may lie in a rematch in the CL Red Final, so they hope. Will host a struggling bunch of Crusaders on Sunday.

3. George Washington (7-0)- Throttled Pub rival and defending champs Frankford 42-6. Travel to Lincoln for regular season finale Friday. The consensus is that the PUB playoffs are just a formality. The team below may have something to say about that.
4. Central (7-0)- Bombed Edison 41-0. QB Joe Marshall and company routinely put up a 40-spot. Travel to Gratz to close out regular season. What will a perfect regular season get them? A quarterfinal meeting with either Frankford or Northeast. Meanwhile, the second place finisher in the Mid-Central division plays South #1 seed. Only in the Pub!!!
5. West Catholic (7-1)- Rebounded nicely with a 33-6 pasting of McDevitt. Rolled up 389 yards of offense. Host North Catholic in third of four straight home games. A win here and a regular season CL Blue crown will be had.
6. Episcopal (5-2)- For the second time in three weeks dropped a close decision to a Maryland power. Travel to Malvern this Friday with hopes of staying atop the Inter-Ac.
7. Penn Charter (5-2)- Fourteen unanswered fourth quarter points propelled win over Malvern. Joe Rauchut leads a stingy defense this week versus Haverford School.
8. Archbishop Wood (5-3)- Put themselves in good position to capture second place in CL Blue with a will-earned win at Conwell-Egan. Might have lost productive RB Bryan McCartney for a while in doing so. Host SJ Prep Saturday in a tough cross-divisional game. They’ll hope for a Hawk letdown!
9. Roman (6-2)- Bounced back with a solid road win over Bonner. Probably played their best half of offense during a 22-point second half. Host a Ryan team that is better than their record indicates Friday night.

10. Northeast (6-1)- Will travel to Frankford to take on the Pioneers for second place in the North. Winner gets Central, loser mostly likely gets Bartram. How much sense does that make? Again, only in the Pub!!!
Under Consideration:
Conwell-Egan (6-2), Frankford (4-2), Carroll (5-3), & Bok (5-2).

OCT. 18

1. O’Hara (7-0)- Routed Ryan in tune up for SJ Prep. Host the Hawks Saturday afternoon in battle for top spot in CL Red. Winner gets first crack at bragging rights. Another meeting down the line is far from out of the question.
2. SJ Prep (5-2)- Played most complete game of the season in destroying Roman, 38-0. The defense was stingy and the offense was running on all cylinders during rout. CL Red regular season crown at stake come Saturday in Springfield. It should be a classic!
3. George Washington (6-0)- Smothered rival Northeast in first Pub test of the season. Will seek revenge against defending champ Frankford come Friday. It’s hard to imagine this group losing anytime soon.
4. Central (6-0)- Another week, another pasting. I wouldn’t mind seeing this team play a legitimate opponent, but hey, they didn’t make the schedule. Left little doubt they are still the kings of Mid-City by crushing of Germantown.
5. Episcopal (5-1)- Bounced back nicely with a huge win over Penn Charter. First time in 15 years they sent the Quakers home with frowns. QB Brian FitzPatrick continues to chew up opposing defenses. A tough McDonogh (MD) comes calling next.
6. West Catholic (6-1)- Disappointing loss to cross-divisional Bonner. Should still be the team to beat in the CL Blue. Will look to rebound against a desperate McDevitt squad this weekend.
7. Conwell-Egan (6-1)- Defeated a gritty K-K club behind three scores from RB sensation Steve Slaton. Second place will be on the line come Friday as they take on defending CL Blue champs Archbishop Wood. Should be a physical affair.
8. Penn Charter (4-2)- Was edged by Episcopal in Inter-Ac opener. Injuries have hurt them in the early going. Hosts slipping rival Malvern on Friday.
9. Frankford (4-1)- Last year’s Public champs will take a crack at GW in Pub’s featured game this weekend. Idle last week, so had two weeks to prepare for year’s biggest game.

10. Northeast (5-1)- 24-6 loss to GW was respectable in the score department, but the Vikings were seriously outplayed. A playoff spot will be riding when they travel to play King on Friday.
Under Consideration:
Roman (5-2), Bonner (3-4), Wood (4-3), Carroll (4-3), Bartram (5-2), and Simon Gratz (5-1).

OCT. 11

1. O’Hara (6-0)- Trounced La Salle 39-7, and rolled up 347 rushing yards in doing so. RB's Steve Cook and John Dempsey both went over the century mark in the game. Travel to Ryan for warmup before hosting SJP the following week.
2. SJ Prep (4-2)- Needed a second half surge to best Ryan 28-10. Will face a decent Roman squad at home Saturday night. John Shaw ran for over 100 yards for the fifth straight game.
3. George Washington (5-0)- Another week, and a another blowout for the Eagles as they pounded ML King 48-16. Will host upset-minded Northeast Friday in a battle for division supremacy.
4. West Catholic (6-0)- After sputtering in the first half easily dispatched rival Neumann-Goretti with a second half dominance. The defense recorded its third shutout of the year, and held the Saints 47 yards of total offense. Host a dangerous Bonner squad this weekend.
5. Penn Charter (4-1)- Handled surburban power Interboro with surprising ease, 29-7. R.J. Hollinshead returned a long interception for the game's first score. With the I-A title in the balance they travel to Episcopal Friday afternoon.
6. Central (5-0)- Whitewashed William Penn 41-0. This team has put up impressive numbers, but have yet to be truly tested. The division will be on the line when they host Germantown Friday.
7. Conwell-Egan (5-1)- An impressive road win against Carroll has the Eagles sitting alone in second place in the CL Blue. Rushing sensation Steve Slaton went for 263 yards and three touchdowns in while eclipsing the 5,000-yard barrier. Quite an accomplishment! Travel to take on a pesky K-K squad Saturday afternoon.
8. Episcopal (4-1)- Fell to Baltimore power Loyola-Blakefield in a physical battle. QB Brian FitzPatrick raced for a 60-yard touchdown, but later fell victim to a concussion. The Churchmen will hope he heals in time for this week's clash with I-A rival Penn Charter.
9. Northeast (5-0)- Smoked Olney 42-0 to remain unbeaten. Will be tested seriously this week when they take on Pub power George Washingtom. May need to play the perfect game to get out of there with a monumental win.
10. Roman (5-1)- Once again it was the Cahillite defense that secured the win over K-K, 14-7. RB Evin Jones was typical bruising self and DB Cory Jackson had another long return for a touchdown, this time on a punt. Will see how far along they've come when they travel to play SJ Prep Saturday night.
Under Consideration:
Frankford (4-1), Bok (4-1), Wood (3-3), & Carroll (3-3).

OCT. 4

  1. O’Hara (5-0)- Offensively, they didn’t put forth their best performance. However, the defense was stingy to say the least in beating rival Bonner, 24-0. Host a struggling LaSalle squad Sunday.
  2. SJ Prep (3-2)- Held off a stubborn LaSalle team to win third straight. RB John Shaw is racking up the carries at a furious pace. Head to the Northeast to take on a slipping Ryan team.
  3. George Washington (4-0)- Just average in win over Germantown Academy. Will take on ML King this week. I’m not sure Pub schedule will have them prepared for what lies ahead if they make state playoffs. Talented, but not tested as of yet.
  4. West Catholic (5-0)- Completely shutdown K-K’s talented QB Brian Gillin in CL Blue win. Defense has been as solid as any in the city. Interesting game with Neumann-Goretti Saturday. Should be spirited and emotional if nothing else.
  5. Episcopal (4-0)- Slipped past Hill School in stiffest test of the young season. Take on Loyola (MD) before I-A slate begins. Are they the team to beat, though?
  6. Central (4-0)- Pasted Bartram, 36-2. Playing like the second best team in the Pub. Could put some lofty numbers up against Pub lesser-light William Penn.

  7. Conwell-Egan (4-1)- Huge win over Ryan this past weekend, as they beat the Raiders for the first time in ten tries. Another big week ahead when they travel to Radnor to take on a surging Carroll squad Saturday night.
  8. Penn Charter (3-1)- This team has come together after losing their best player. Great win over Hun (NJ) this past weekend. Another tough test awaits them this weekend as they take on a solid and desperate Interboro squad.
  9. Northeast (4-0)- The offense has been rolling since week one. Dispatched Mastbaum with a 35 spot this past weekend. Should move even closer to a playoff berth after taking on lowly Olney Thursday.
  10. Roman (4-1)- This team is playing good football. Solid defensively, and improving on offense. Will face CL Blue opponent K-K Friday in Norristown looking for fifth consecutive win.
  UNDER CONSIDERATION:

Frankford (3-1), Carroll (3-2), North Catholic (3-1), & Bok (3-1).

SEPT. 27

1. O’Hara (4-0)- Expecting letdown from North Penn win? Not so, blasted McDevitt for 48 first half points and put this one to bed early. Face neighborhood rival Bonner Saturday night.
2. SJ Prep (2-2)- QB Chris Whitney is an emerging star, as he throws three touchdowns in league win over Bonner. Face heated rivals LaSalle Sunday afternoon.
3. George Washington (3-0)- Was merciless on Pub doormat Olney in 60-6 rout. Mr. Butler went for 127 yards. So?! He did it on just three carries. Travel to GA this week in a rare out-of-Pub game.
4. West Catholic (4-0)- Held Dougherty to just 59 yards and recorded their second shutout of the season. Freshman QB Eric Brennan threw for 168 yards and two scores. Travel to Conshy to play a desperate K-K squad on Friday night.
5. Episcopal (3-0)- This team is rapidly becoming one of the more exciting squads in the city. QB Brian FitzPatrick has been magnificent thus far leading a team that has accumulated 129 points in three games. Travel to play the Hill School this weekend.
6. Central (6-0)- Another week, another 40 spot. Got QB Joe Marshall back in win over Roxborough. Host a gritty Bartram squad Friday.
7. Conwell-Egan (3-1)- Hung on to beat Neumann-Goretti 20-12. Franchise rusher Steve Slaton went for 220 yards and a couple of scores. Will have tough test against Ryan Saturday night.
8. Penn Charter (2-1)- Shut out Peddie School 27-0 for second consecutive win after deflating loss to O’Hara in week one. Will look for third consecutive triumph against Hun School.
9. Northeast (3-0)- Idle this past week. Travel to face a decent Mastbaum team Friday in another game with playoff implications.
10. Roman (3-1)- Pulled away from LaSalle behind the running of Evin Jones and passing of Tim Hoban in 25-12 win. Face a Judge team coming off an upset win of Ryan in a big CL Red contest Saturday afternoon.
Under Consideration: Frankford (2-1), Ryan (1-2), Carroll (2-2), & Malvern (1-2).

SEPT. 20

     1. O’Hara (3-0)- Showed that they belong among the best in the state with OT win over powerful North Penn. Tune up with McDevitt before starting league play the following week. The Lions are good and dangerous!
2. St. Joe’s Prep (1-2)- Got back to their usual winning ways with victory over New York power Brooklyn Poly Prep. John Shaw carried the ball 35 times in win. Expect more of this in the weeks to come.
3. George Washington (2-0)- Defensively solid again in soggy win over Mastbaum. A team filled with athleticism and skill. Face an overmatched Olney squad this week. Look for this one to be over early.
4. West Catholic (3-0)- Survived their toughest past of schedule with three solid wins. Defense has been the key. Yet to give up a rushing touchdown or 100 yards on the ground to an opponent. Should have their way with Dougherty this Saturday.

5. Archbishop Ryan (1-1)- Travel to take on neighborhood rival Father Judge after bye week. Joe Zeglinski is as solid as they come.
6. Episcopal (2-0)- Can’t play much better than they have in the first two weeks. Brian FitzPatrick accounted for five touchdowns in win over Neumann-Goretti. Have outscored opponents a staggering 83-6.
7. Central (2-0)- Handled rival Dobbins with surprising ease. Could be the Pubs second best, as they rarely have problems lighting up the scoreboard.

8. Archbishop Wood (1-2)- Surprisingly smoked K-K 41-7. This team plays defense and now has a passing game. Should be in the hunt come December.
9. Conwell-Egan (2-1)- Had a tough time moving the ball on West. Superback Steve Slaton held to very ordinary 61 yards on 16 carries. Should get back on the winning track this week at home against Neumann-Goretti.

10. Northeast (3-0)- Huge win over division-rival Lincoln will go a long way to playoff berth. Rockeed McCarter is one of the Pub’s best. Have a bye this week.
UNDER CONSIDERATION: Malvern (1-1), Penn Charter (1-1), ML King (3-0), Frankford (1-1), & Roman (2-1).

SEPT. 13

1.   O’Hara (2-0) -- Lions have been very solid during the first two weeks. We’ll find out how good they are after this weekend’s meeting with PIAA power North Penn.

2. St. Joe’s Prep (0-2) -- The Hawks have had a tough go of it in the early going and it will be no picnic this week either with Brookly Poly Prep coming to town. Does anyone remember 2001?

3.     George Washington (1-0) -- How good is this team? Well, they easily handled LaSalle and that’s a good start. Jerry Butler and company could be in for a memorable season.

4.     West Catholic (2-0) -- The Burrs have won with defense the first two weeks while they wait for the offense to turn on the jets. This could be the Burrs best defense in some time.

5.     Archbishop Ryan (1-1) -- Late field goal prevented an upset win over Neshaminy. This scrappy bunch may make some noise in the CL Red.

6.     Malvern (1-0) -- Well, it appears that offense won’t be a sore spot after the 41 points they put up on Dowingtown West. Should contend in Inter-Ac.

7.     Conwell-Egan (2-0) -- Slaton and company have averaged 34 points through two outings. Get a chance to show off new turf this week in home opener against division favorite West Catholic.

8.     Episcopal (1-0) -- The Churchmen dismantled Chestnut Hill by scoring five defensive touchdowns. Joe Rosati and Greg Isdaner anchor that unit.

9.     Central (1-0) -- Breezed past Ben Franklin in opener. This team is always a threat to light up the scoreboard. Face divisional rival Dobbins on Friday.

10. Archbishop Wood (0-2)- Competitive losses to the #1 & #4 teams in this poll gives you the last spot. Will look to get into the win column against a surging Kennedy-Kenrick squad.

UNDER CONSIDERATION: Northeast (2-0), Lincoln (2-0), Frankford (0-1), Kennedy-Kenrick (2-0), Bonner (1-1), & Roman (1-1).
