Quarterback With a Cause Return to TedSilary.com Home Page Please read this note from ex-Malvern Prep football star Ian Mitchell, now excelling at quarterback for Dickinson College, and help if you can. Thank you. |
As the Quarterback of the Dickinson Red Devils' Football Team, I am challenging myself and my fans to help tackle cancer. I am doing this because I lost my Grandmom and Pop-Pop to cancer in 1994 and 2004, respectively. Also my high school friend and teammate, Evan Brady (Malvern Prep – Class of 2005) died of cancer in the fall of 2005. As a result, I want to help children in their battle against this tough opponent.
I hope you will join me in this effort by considering a financial pledge that is tied to my performance on the football field this fall.
As Quarterback, I’ll have an opportunity to throw the ball and run with it. For every yard I gain by run or pass throughout the season, I’m hoping you’ll consider a financial pledge.
For example, last season I threw for 1,390 yards and ran for another 823 yards. If you pledged one cent per yard, you would donate $22.13 to Evanfest.
Evanfest is a charity created in memory of Evan Brady by his parents. The money collected through Evanfest is donated to families who have children struggling with cancer. In the past I have raised over $20,000 and would like to raise that number higher.
Your Tax Deductible Pledge can be noted below and returned to me at:

PLEDGE:__________________________________ per yard
All checks can be made out to “Evanfest.”
You can bet that I’ll fight for every yard because beating cancer is better than beating F&M or Gettysburg.
I appreciate your help and support.
