JAN. 15
CATHOLIC RED
Judge 46, Roman 45
This was one of those game where you had to be there until the
end, luckily since I am forced to stay, I enjoyed a very thrilling game
which came down to the end. In the 1st Quarter, Judge and
Roman came out firing with both teams hitting shots. jr. Joe Kehoe
hit a 3-pointer and added another FG and 2 FT’s . jr. Seamus Radtke, I
don’t know whether this was a designed play or not but the big 6’7
giant shot and made a 3-pointer. I know you are thinking what was he
thinking but this wasn’t his first 3-point shot of the season and wasn’t
his first made one. He also added a FG and contributed 2 rebounds. Roman
stuck with Judge in the 1st. At the end of the 1st
tied up 12-12. Start of the 2nd, Judge knew how to find
their sharp shooter Kehoe because he added another pair of Trey balls
giving him 13 in the 1st half alone and also had a rebound.
jr. Tony Smith had a basket and 2 rebounds. jr. Reggie Charles
made 2 FT’s and had 2 rebounds. Radtke added a basket and another 2
rebounds to his total. At halftime, Judge 24, Roman 19. 3rd
quarter, jr. Nick Sullivan hit a 3-pointer to help boost the
Crusaders lead. Charles added a basket and FT and a board. Radtke added
a bucket and 2 more boards. Kehoe was quiet this quarter but grabbed a
crucial offensive rebound. Smith also grabbed a rebound along with sr.
Bob “Tin-Man” Tinney. End of 3rd, Judge 32, Roman
27. 4th Quarter, Judge had a lot of help from Charles in
this quarter with his 2 baskets and his 5-6 FT’s and a rebound. Kehoe
added a 3-pointer. Sullivan made both of the FT’s he shot this quarter.
With 8 seconds left Roman down by 4 points, they drove it down the court
and hit a 3-pointer but without a Timeout to call, the game ended.
Final Score Judge 46, Roman 45.
Stats: Kehoe
Points:16 Rebounds: 2 Charles Points: 14
Rebounds: 5 Radtke Points: 9 Rebounds: 7 Smith
Points: 2 Rebounds: 4 Sullivan Points: 5
Rebounds: 0.
Keys to the Game: 1.
Judge held the score battle at the end of every quarter helping them win
this game 2. The scoring Duo of Charles and Kehoe put up 30
points together. 3. Cleaning up the boards, helping Judge take away
those second chance opportunities for Roman. I promised a shoutout to
the announcer of the game tonight, Mike. Thanks for all your help and I
look forward to working with you in the future.

JUDGE CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP
Father Judge 56, Salesianum (Del.) 47
What more could Coach Sean Tait want for his birthday than for his
team to win the tournament championship in his first year coaching at Judge,
his alma mater? Well, in the beginning of the game, the Sallies put up 8
points before Judge could score one. Jr. Tony “Mr. MVP” Smith helped
Judge get back into this game with 4 points and 2 rebounds. Jr. Reggie
Charles added 4 points, also jr. Joe Kehoe added one of his
signature 3-pointers. Jr. Seamus Radtke put up 2points and 2
rebounds. End Of 1st Quarter Judge 13, Sales 15. Smith and Radtke
came out this quarter and put up 5 points and 2 rebounds each. Charles
contributed 2 points and Kehoe put in 4 points. Coming off the bench sr.
Bob “Tin Man” Tinney added 2 points. At halftime: Judge 29, Sales,
28. To me it seems like the 3rd Quarter is the best quarter for Charles
because in this one he came out from halftime to put up 9 points. Smith
added another rebound and 2 points to his total. Kehoe, Radtke, and jr. Nick
Sullivan all had 2 points each. After the 3rd: Judge 44, Sales 41.
Going into the 4th Judge held on to a slim lead when it seemed like Sales
could pull away, Charles made sure that Judge led the rest of the way with
his 7 points. Kehoe added another signature 3-ball and Smith added 2 points
and 3 rebounds. Radtke didn’t score but had 3 rebounds. After the final
horn sounded: Judge 56, Sales 47.
All-Tournament Players: Swenson-Kervyn
Haynes Palumbo- Anthony Wallace Salesianum- Players' Names
Not Known (sorry for the inconvenience) Judge- Reggie Charles (44
total points) and Joe Kehoe (7 3-Pointers).
All-Tournament MVP-
Tony
Smith . . .
The reason
Tony won this award, in my opinion, was because of his amazing defense. The
kid was assigned to a player and would stick with him. Also he was 9-13 from
the field while also going 2-5 from the FT line. He also had 15 rebounds
during the tournament. Congratulations, Tony. Let’s keep up the good work
and maybe get that All-Catholic selection at the end of the season.

NON-LEAGUE
Judge 61, Conwell-Egan 55
On this Friday night, the Crusaders and new head coach
Sean Tait were trying to get the first win of the season. Coming in
to this with a record of 0-3 the struggling Crusaders needed to get the
first win before league play starts. In Seamus Radtke’s first start
of the season after battling an ankle injury the Crusaders came out strong.
Leading the way was jr. Joe “Money Shot” Kehoe with his first 3-ball
of the game. jr. Seamus Radtke had a good first quarter with 2
points and 2 blocks. Judge came out early by sweeping the boards up with
some help from jr. Tony Smith (Judge’s QB) with 3 rebounds in
the first quarter along with a 3-ball. At the end of the first was tied
up 11-11. Second quarter was another back and forth battle. Kehoe hit
another 3-ball along with the big man Radtke who I may remind you is our
center. Jr. Alex Ruxton the transfer from North Catholic had a strong
rebounding quarter with 3. PG jr. Nick Sullivan also added to the
3-ball parade with one of his own. At halftime Egan leads 24-22. In
the third quarter after an encouraging pep talk from the coaches Judge came
out firing. Something must have lit jr. Reggie Charles’ fuse cause he
went off with 6 pts, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Smith hit all of his shots
in the quarter going 3-3 from the field with 6pts. Kehoe added another
3-ball to his collection also taking a charge too. At the end of 3 Judge
is up 39-31. Going into the 4th quarter Coach Tait stuck with his
starters and boy did it pay off well for him. Kehoe hit his final 3 of the
game along with a 2 pointer and 3 fouls shots to go with it for a total of
17 pts for the game for him. Radtke made a tough basket and also sank 4 FT
to give him 13 pts for the game. Charles hit a pair of baskets to give him
the total of 15 pts. Smith also hit a jumper to give him 11 pts in all 4
quarters. Sullivan hit a pair of FT’s to give him 5 pts. At the end of the
game Coach Tait and the Crusaders could finally celebrate their first win of
the season. Final Score was in Judge’s favor 61-55. My key point to this
game was the outstanding scoring level with 4 of the 5 starters scoring in
double figures and the hustle on the boards with 24 rebounds.
