2004 Maxwell Club Honorees

   The Maxwell Football Club announced that fifty-two players from the greater Philadelphia region have been selected for recognition as part of the club’s 2004 high school awards program. Awards will be presented to each of these individuals at the Maxwell Club’s High School Awards Dinner that will be held on Thursday January 13, 2005 at the Normandy Farms Conference Center in Blue Bell Pennsylvania, a venue that is easily accessible from all areas in the region.

   The awards program will culminate with the announcement of the winner of the 20th Annual Jim Henry Award, presented to the top scholastic football player in the region. The Jim Henry Award has been presented since 1985 and criteria for selection include, outstanding on-field performance, excellence in the classroom, and strong commitment to community service. Recent recipients of this prestigious award include Dan Connor (Strath Haven H.S.) and Austin Scott (Parkland H.S.). Both of these young men currently play football at Penn State University. The winner of the Jim Henry Award will be invited to the Maxwell Club Awards Banquet on Friday February 25, 2005 for the formal presentation of his trophy. The Maxwell Award (Collegiate Player of the Year), Bednarik Award (Outstanding Collegiate Defensive Player), George Munger Award (NCAA Coach of the Year) and Bert Bell Award (NFL MVP) will also be presented at this event that will be held at Harrah’s Atlantic City.
