  In early September, 2006, Yasuf Bangura, Calem Bridgette
and Markeyse Carter rushed into a burning house on the
way home from practice and saved an 87-year-old woman.
Their heroic act generated national attention and earned
them numerous awards. Click here for a special page.
(Bridgette graduated. Bangura and Carter remain on team.)

  On 11/2, the Panthers defeated Gratz, 20-19, in a
quarterfinal, for their first playoff win in the program's
80-year history.

  Darius Johnson finished the season with a school
record for rushing yards (1,051), breaking 1,049 by
William Griffin in 1999. He rushed for 254 in the
final game vs. West Philly, breaking the school
record by Jonathan Mack (199) in 1985.
