The Phila. Blue Flame, a team comprised of
policemen and firefighters, played its second game ever and first at home on May 10 before
2,000 fans at Franklin Field. The Flame lost to the NYPD, 27-7. The NYPD squad has been in
existence for 31 years. Below are the stats with photos below the
stats.
In its first game, played in Brooklyn, the Flame
fell to NYC's Correctional Officers, 20-10. Philly's points came from Troy Gore (rushing
TD) and Bill Eddis (FG, PAT).
Many of the Flame players are former high school stars and
many of the coaches are current/former coaches at the high school level.

Wes Moore started at tackle for the Blue Flame and
had a key block on Kevin Whalen's TD. Wes' father,
Terry, served on the officiating crew as the umpire.
Both are police officers.
