Malvern Repeats As Inter-Ac
Track and Field Champs
Malvern Prep rallied to earn 24 points in 3 of the last 4 events at Saturdays 119th Inter-Ac Track and Field Championships to win its second consecutive title. The surge began with Junior Brian Duffys first place finish in the 3200. Freshman Brian Fulton followed with a second place finish in the 800. The Friars secured the title with an impressive 1-2-3 sweep of the 200 by Senior Dan DiGiovanni, Junior Trey Womack and Freshman Tom McGarrigle.
Coach Mike Koenig praised the performance and leadership of Seniors DiGiovanni, who also placed second in the 100, Elliot Whaley, who finished second in the 110 and 300 hurdles, and T.J. Novino, who won the high jump. Junior Trey Womack earned significant points by winning the 100 and finishing second in the 200 and high jump.
