High in Philadelphia, PA.
  The Cardinals played a patchwork schedule in the 1957 season, then
joined the Catholic League for the 1958 season. They remained there
until the school closed in June 2010.

  (Information prior to 1976 was provided mostly by Dr. Roger B. Saylor,

DETAILS OF DOUGHERTY'S CHAMPIONSHIPS

At Temple Stadium
Dougherty 31, Bonner 14
    David Bland rushed 30 times for 160 yards and three TDs and Ray
Capriotti passed for TDs to Harvey McGee and Bill Chambers. QB John
Cappelletti ran for all of Bonner's points.

1982
At Villanova Stadium
Dougherty 17, Carroll 14
    Bill Wright kicked a 23-yard field goal on the final play of the
game as Dougherty, which lost starting QB Richard Ashby (knee injury) in
the second quarter, overcame a 14-point deficit to win its first title
since 1968. Keith Rieser, playing halfback and QB, ran and passed for
scores and accounted for 161 yards total offense. David Bond was the
defensive hero of the fourth quarter, forcing a fumble and making an
interception. For Carroll, Dan Dinsmore rushed 29 times for 188 yards
and Jim Keenan scored both TDs.

CITY TITLE
1968
At Franklin Field
Dougherty 48, Northeast 14
    David Bland (10-79) and Dan Heenan (12-76) each rushed for two
TDs as Dougherty stormed to the game's first 42 points and an easy
victory. The Cardinals (11-0) became the first city champ to post a
perfect record since Lincoln in 1958. Ray Capriotti completed 10 of 20
passes for 125 yards and TDs to Bill Chambers, Steve Conway and Harvey
McGee. Bland made three receptions for 57 yards. For Northeast, Tom
Sherer rushed for 50 yards on 18 carries.
