SEMIFINAL
Haddonfield 18, Florence 7: There was “fun” before the game. Earlier
in the week, Haddons coach Frank Panhuise asked permission to wear black
uniforms. Florence said that couldn’t happen because they’d be wearing
blue. Florence did so during warmups, then switched to yellow. No sweat.
Haddonfield had brought along its black jerseys, suspecting there’d be
some knuckleheadedness, and immediately switched. Then Brian Gallo put
on quite the show, rushing 44 times for 280 yards and three TDs as the
Haddons gave Florence its first loss. The linemen: Eric Wederbrand, Tim
Chase, Pat Selfridge, Brian Dengler, Alex Creighton and Dave Gottardi.
Florence’s Dave Muchowski passed for one TD, raising his season total to
40.
FINAL
Paulsboro 10, Haddonfield 0: The Haddons committed five turnovers and
were held to 77 yards as Paulsbobo raised its record in sectional finals
to 5-0.1999

Kingsway 35, Haddonfield 12: Not much drama here. The Haddons scored
on John Ford’s run and Anthony Melzi’s pass to Dave Bordegon.

Haddonfield 36, Pleasantville 7: Pat Betley passed for two TDs and
Anthony Frizano ran for the same amount. Kevin Hee’s 50-yard
interception return created comfort at 28-7. Haddonfield won the second
half, 21-0.
SEMIFINAL
Hammonton 17, Haddonfield 0: The Haddons could not enter the end
zone.

Moorestown 39, Haddonfield 7: A shutout was avoided when Dennis Dahms
bulled one yard for a third quarter TD.

QUARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 20, Deptford 17: As time expired, Gregg Marcogliano
boomed a 28-yard field goal right after he pulled a nixed-by-a-WD
timeout attempt wide left. The Haddons gained four first downs on third
downs during the drive. The FG was Marcogliano’s second and Alex Watson
posted two rushing TDs.
SEMIFINAL
West Deptford 23, Haddonfield 14: Evan Bigelow passed 9-for-22 for
124 yards and a TD to Kevin Ciemniecki.
2008

QUARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 52, Woodrow Wilson (Camden) 13: Phil Bhaya provided quite
the highlight by scurrying 102 yards for an interception TD. Other
return TDs were racked up by Kevin Davis (blocked punt) and Dereck
Colbin (kickoff).
SEMIFINAL
Delsea 39, Haddonfield 29: Kevin Davis snagged two of Phil Bhaya’s
three TD tosses.
2009

QUARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 13, Willingboro 8: Phil Bhaya bagged two rushing scores
and Chris Davis gained 99 yards on 20 carries.
SEMIFINAL
Haddonfield 15, West Deptford 13: Two field goals by Michael Rivard
enabled the Haddons to end a 10-game losing streak to WD.
FINAL
Delsea 40, Haddonfield 22: Delsea set a new SJ record by finishing
the season with 510 points. For Haddonfield, Phil Bhaya passed 12-for-22
for 217 yards and Michael Rivard made seven catches for 166. Bhaya also
ran for 128 yards and two scores.
2010

QUARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 35, Manchester Twp. 6: The Haddons rolled to a 21-0
halftime lead. Rusher Kevin Davis bagged 123 yards and three TDs while
mixing in an interception. His twin, Chris, added 103 rushing yards.
SEMIFINAL
Haddonfield 38, Willingboro 27: After Chris Davis was lost to an
early injury, Chris Dengler filled the void by carrying 22 times for 98
yards and one TD. Twin Kevin passed 6-for-10 for 100 yards and another
score, a 30-yard clincher to Robert Perkins with 1:34 remaining.
FINAL
Haddonfield 16, West Deptford 8: Coach Joe DeLano, in season No. 9,
guided the Haddons to their first sectional crown. Early highlight:
Kevin Davis’ 74-yard rushing TD on the game’s second play. Late
highlight: Stopping WD on four consecutive plays inside the 9.
Haddonfield finished 11-1, as did WD. The latter was guilty of four
turnovers after committing just three all season.
2011

Haddonfield 56, Willingboro 8: Dan Ciemniecki passed 8-for-9 for 202
yards and three TDs while rushing five times for 78 yards and two more.
Chris Dengler added two rushing scores and Robert Perkins had one apiece
via ground/air.
SEMIFINAL
Haddonfield 43, Cinnaminson 0: Dan Ciemniecki ran for two TDs and
passed for one and Chris Dengler posted the longest score, a 70-yard
run.
FINAL
West Deptford 22, Haddonfield14: The Haddons left behind a 20-game
winning streak.
2013

QUARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 21, West Deptford 9: A run by Ted Stavetski and catch by
Jake Robinson (pass from Mike McLaughlin) enabled the Haddons to claim a
14-0 halftime lead.
SEMIFINAL
Haddonfield 45, Camden 19: Aside from rushing for 173 yards and two
scores, Mike DeFeo made two interceptions to bump off the No. 1 seed.
Mike McLaughlin pased for 89 yards, rushed for 68. Mark Walker's 40-yard
interception return for a score was the defensive highlight.
FINAL
Haddonfield 21, Woodstown 0: All TDs were posted after halftime and
two were provided by the defense -- Mark Walker (fumble) and Ted
Stavetski (interception). Woodstown collected just 67 yards.
2014

QUARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 37, Woodstown 0: Michael Alberto passed 8-for-13 for 160
yards and a 52-yard score to Jake Klaus. Mike DeFeo turned
15 carries into 83 yards and two TDs.
SEMIFINAL
Haddonfield 38, Buena 7: Michael Alberto passed 7-for-14 for 129
yards and three six-pointers while Jake Klaus paydirted twice on runs.
FINAL
Haddonfield 27, West Deptford 0: While completing a 12-0 season, tops
in school history, the Haddons won the total total-offense battle by 200
yards, 321-121. Tyler Klaus made a one-handed TD snag while Mike DeFeo
(134) and Jake Klaus, Tyler's brother, topped the rushers. The crown was
their second in a row and third in five years.
2015

Haddonfield 10, Woodstown 7: The Haddons rallied from a 7-0 deficit
on Justin Gallo's run and Dan Tomlinson's 22-yard field goal at 0:00.
SEMIFINAL
Cedar Creek 14, Haddonfield 9: A rushing TD (by Tommy Kadar) and a
field goal (30-yarder by Dan Tomlinson) were not enough this time.
2016

Willingboro 18, Haddonfield 9: The Haddons' highlight was Will
Ciemny's score on a 10-yard, blocked-punt return.
2017

QYARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 17, Sterling 7: After suffering an 18-point setback one
week earlier against this opponent, the Haddons prevailed on Nick
Patrizi's two short TD runs and because they limited QB CJ Barrett to
three completions and 20 yards through three quarters.
SEMIFINAL
Haddonfield 35, Cinnaminson 8: Jay Foley passed for two TDs and the
target for one was his twin, John.
FINAL
Haddonfield 21, West Deptford 17: The Haddons claimed their first
lead with 2:36 left when Jay Foley (7-for-11, 166) found Drew Gavranich
for a 51-yard score. Part-time defensive back Seamus Glennon then came
through with a late interception.
2018

QUARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 41, Sterling 7: Two of Jay Foley's TD passes went to
Chris Brown.
SEMIFINAL
Haddonfield 28, Pleasantville 6: Davis Smith's six receptions
produced two TDs. He also tallied on a 45-yard interception return and
set up another score with a lengthy kickoff return.
FINAL
Haddonfield 23, Camden 12: The best thing about this sectional crown,
No. 5 in nine years, was that the Haddons were able to claim it on their
renovated home field. Chris Brown provided a terrific start by returning
the opening kickoff 87 yards for a TD. John Foley scored on a reception
and interception and Gabe Klaus recorded three sacks.
SOUTH/CENTRAL GROUP 2 "SUPER BOWL"
Haddonfield 17, Hillside 7: Jump-cutting through two defenders, Davis
Smith broke a scoreless tie by racing into the end zone on a 53-yard
punt return. Gabe Klaus (rush) and Henry Glozier (FG) added to that
lead. Jay Foley passed 12-for-21 for 116 yards and his twin, John,
netted 73 yards on six snatches. DL Jimmy Kane made his first career
interception.
2019

QUARTERFINAL
Haddonfield 28, Shore Regional 14: Jack Narducci passed for 75 yards
and two TDs while rusher Tommy Batson (11-74) scored once.
SEMIFINAL
Hillside 35, Haddonfield 0: The Haddons suffered their first
postseason shutout since 2001, and just their third overall, whiile
posting just 100 yards total offense and gaining no more than 11 yards
on any play. |
