Donofrio Classic 2005

The Albert C. Donofrio Classic, a single-elimination tournament played at The Fellowship House of Conshohocken, features most of the best high school players in the Philadelphia-South Jersey area, and often draws players from as far away as North Jersey and New York.
The Fellowship House is located at 5th and Harry Streets. (Harry is one block off of Fayette Street, the main street in Conshohocken. If you enter Conshy from the Schuylkill Expressway/Blue Route side by going across the big bridge, you will be on Fayette Street. Go to 5th and make a right. The Fellowship House is one block down on the left-hand side.) The phone number is 610-828-3266. The members of the tournament staff are always helpful and cooperative.

Del Val VC 92, Don-Len Trophy 85: Tyrone Lewis (Truman) had 21
points, nine rebounds, Malik Alvin (Gratz) added nine points, eight
assists, Josh Martin (Dougherty) had 12 points, five assists, Malik
Perry (Roman) had 11 rebounds, and Roberto Townsend (Dougherty) had 10
points for Del Val. Thomas Young had 23 points), Jason Green had 14 points,
eight steals and five assists, and Da'Rel Scott had 16 points for Don-Len.
Positive Image II 76, Del Val Airborne 43: Kenny St. George (Central) had 21 points,
Malcolm Ingram (Solebury Prep) had 21 points, 11 rebounds, and Zahir Carrington
(Masterman) had 10 points for PI. Ramone Moore (Southern) had 12 points, 11
rebounds, and Andrew Hardy (Audenried) had 12 points, eight rebounds for Del Val.
NCP 93, Shaffer Builders 90: Lewis Leonard scored 22 points, Maurice Miller added
20 and Kenny Spotwood had 17 to lead NCP. Garrett Williamson (Lower Merion)
ollected 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, Dan Capkin (Lower Merion) scored
21 and Dutch Gaitley (Carroll) added 17 for Shaffer.
Waterview II 91, Road Runners 87 (ot): Therron Murray (22), Curtis Shaw (17) and
Rockeed McCarter (16 and 15 rebounds) led the winners.
Positive Image I 86, Lancaster Lebanon 70: Kashief Carr (Southern) had 24 points, and
was 11-for-14 from floor, Kyree Brown (Friends Central), had 15 points, five assists, Ray
Sims (Roman) had seven assists, and Ervin Spuriel (Southern) 14 points, six assists for
Pizza Time Saloon 73, Sonny Hill Sophs 68: Jack Forth (Upper Merion) had 22 points,
and Ed Lapinsky had 18 points, and Joe Sobocinski (La Salle) had 10 points, nine rebounds
for Pizza Time. Sammy Gibbons (Academy of New Church) had 13 points, Desmond
Moses (Rancocas Valley) had 12, and Clarence Jackson (Cherokee) added nine.
Del-Val Toros 74, Triple Crown Academy 58: Mike Buckley (Norristown) scored 14, Daniel
Pendleton had 13 and Scott Marston (Kennedy-Kenrick) chipped in 10 for Del-Val. Ryan
Thompson had a game-high 16 for Triple Crown.
Procura 74, Hunting Park 73: Joe Fox (10-for-18 shooting) scored 25 points, Reggie Redding
had 18 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and Larry Loughery added 14 points and 7
rebounds for Procura; they're all from SJ Prep. Prep Charter's Rodney Green (15 points, 7
rebounds), Aron Cohen (15 points), Doug Davis (11 points) and Neumann-Goretti's Antonio
"Scoop" Jardine (6 assists) led Hunting Park.

Sonny Hill Seniors 94, NCP 55: Ameer Ali (Gratz) had 23 points and 11 rebounds, Semaj Inge
had 15 points Anthony Morrison (U. City) added 13, Scott Rodgers (Central) scored 12 and
Dominique Curry (Washington) added 11 for the winners. Ken Spotwood (14), Lewis Leonard
(13) and Maurice Miller (10), all from Frankford, paced NFC.
Playaz 119, Waterview II 93: Episcopal's Wayne Ellington (40 points on 15-for-25 shooting),
Germantown Academy's Ryan Ayers (22 points, 14 rebounds), Luis Guzman (20 points) and
Episcopal's Gerald Henderson (19 points, 10 rebounds) led the Playaz. Rockeed McCarter
(Northeast) had 25 points and 12 rebounds and Curtis Shaw added 13 points and 8 rebounds for
Main Street 90, Pizza Time Saloon 71: Noel Wilmore scored 25 points and Ryan Zamroz added
18 points and 6 rebounds for Main Street. Ed Lapinski had 23 points and Roger Thomas tallied
19 for Pizza Time.
James Fox 106, Del Val Toros 89: Pat Fleury had 19 points and 6 assists, Pat Mansell scored 15
points and Harris Mansell added 14 for James Fox. Mike Buckley had 23 points and 10 rebounds
to pace Del Val.
Procura 94, Championship Sports 87: Reggie Redding (33 points on 13-for-24 shooting, 8
rebounds, 8 assists) led the winners. Joe Fox added 25 points and 9 assists, Larry Loughery
had 13 points and 7 rebounds and Derrick Graff grabbed 9 boards for Procura. Clay Scovill scored
25 points and Devon McClendon added 16 points and 17 rebounds for Championship Sports.
Positive Image II 48, Sonny Hill Juniors 42 (ot): Malcolm Ingram had 20 points and 8 rebounds
and Dwight Lyons added 11 points as PI II overcame a 28-14 halftime deficit and advanced in the
lowest-scoring game in tournament history. Mike Ringgold (8 rebounds) and Darnell Moore each
scored 12 for the Juniors.
Del Val VC 117, Bucks County 103: Gratz' Malik Alvin (27 points), Roman's Malik Perry (18),
Dan Geriot (17), Tyrell Lewis (15) and Dougherty's Kahlil Mumford (13) led Del Val. Joe Thomas
scored 26, Woods Matt Spadafora had 25 and Jason Vegotski added 22 for Bucks.
Positive Image 107, Waterview 67: Kashief Carr scored 22, Kyree Brown added 18 and Roman's
Ray "Doodles" Sims dealt seven assists for Positive Image. Southerns Amir Ryan led Waterview with 14.
Main Street 100, Positive Image I 94: Ryan Zamrod shot 8-for-10 en route to 28 points and
Noel Wilmore (Chester) added 24 points for the winners. Kashief Carr scored 26, Kyree Brown
(Friends' Central) had 20, Bradley Wanamaker (Roman) added 18 and Ray "Doodles" Sims (Roman)
dealt 17 assists for Positive Image I.
Del Val V.C. 103, Procura 101 (2 ot): Tyrone Lewis (25 points) hit the game-winning three-pointer
with six seconds remaining. Josh Martin (Dougherty) had 21 points, nine rebounds and six assists,
Malik Alvin (Gratz) scored 20 and Dan Geriot had 20 points and nine rebounds for Del Val. Reggie
Redding collected 39 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, Joe Fox had 16 points and seven assists
and Larry Loughery collected 13 points for Procura. All three are from St. Joes Prep.
Sonny Hill Seniors 78, James Fox 74: Gratz' Ameer Ali (22 points, 12 rebounds), Semaj Inge (14
points) and Central's Scott Rodgers (13 points, 5 steals) led the defending champions into the
semifinals. Harris Mansell scored 26 points and Pat Mansell added 24 for James Fox.
Playaz 84, Positive Image II 63: Episcopal's Gerald Henderson had 29 points and 6 rebounds,
Wayne Ellington (also Episcopal) totaled 16 points and 8 rebounds and Luis Guzman scored 24
points to lead Playaz. Malcolm Ingram (24 points, 9 rebounds), Masterman's Zahir Carrington (13
rebounds) and Central's Kenny St. George (17 points) led PI.
Sonny Hill Seniors 98, Main Street 83: Freire's Isaiah Coleman (29 points, 13 rebounds), Semaj Inge
(19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists) and Central's Scott Rodgers (13 points, 9 steals) led the defending
champions back into the finals. Ryan Zamroz poured in 35 points for Main Street.
Playaz 104, Del Val VC 83: Wayne Ellington (32 points, 10 rebounds), Gerald Henderson (17 points,
8 rebounds, 5 assists) and Luis Guzman (18 points) paced the Playaz. Danny Geriot scored 21 points
and Tyrone Lewis added 16 for Del Val.
Playaz 94, Sonny Hill Seniors 86: The Episcopal duo of Gerald Henderson (33 points, 12 rebounds)
and Wayne Ellington (25, 10, three assists) powered Playaz to victory in a game marred by 52 personals.
Injuries limited Playaz to a six-man rotation. For the Seniors, Ameer Ali (Gratz) piled up 28 points and
17 rebounds while Central's Scott Rodgers (21), Freire's Isaiah Coleman (19) and Semaj James (14) also
scored in double figures.
